Best way to travel to Newcastle?

Could we get a direct bus to Newcastle from Boro bus station and if so, do they run regularly?

We were thinking of getting a taxi but would probably set us back £40/50 at least.

We used the X10 I think - it was day after we beat Brentford in the play off semis at the Riverside. Cost only £4.80 return if my memory serves me right. we got off at Eldon Square Station and back on there - buses were one a hour - it was not quick and on the A19 was a bit shaky and noisy, but I would do it again.

No, X10 goes through Middlesbrough, Stockton, Peterlee (Dalton Park), Gateshead and Newcastle

Is he going to Darlo straight from Newcastle or from Boro? If it's from Newcastle then LNER and Cross Country trains go from Newcastle Central Station to Darlo and takes bout 30 mins or if it's from Boro then Northern Rail train service also only takes 30 mins.

He's going straight to Darlo from Newcastle. We're probably going to get the X10 to Newcastle from Boro and he'll probably get the train to Darlo the following day.
 
It's been mentioned but I'd personally go to Darlo and get the regular LNER East Coast to Newcastle. It's 25/30 minutes to Newcastle for a tenner. If you get the train to Darlo, there's a very good chance of a free journey to Newcastle too!

The LNER staff change at Newcastle so are always busy preparing for that. Mind you, if the barriers are up at Central Station you'll need a ticket.
 
There's two so they run every half hour. X9 and X10. Great service, used it many times. It's about £8 for a day return.

If you're going up to the airport your ticket includes the Metro connection. It really is a bargain and the fastest and most comfortable way using public transport
