Bbq’s

Class mate, you pleased with it? I was highly impressed with the quality and cooking on it is a dream.
Ye really impressed, how about you? Only done the one cook on it but everything cooked spot on and good control.

still trying to get used to the tutting 🤣🤣

Quality of parts is usually the price difference. Some people rate outbacks but they’re well known for rusting quickly, I’ve got one for convenience and had to replace the burner twice in 4 years due to corrosion. But the parts aren’t that expensive. We have it for convenience if we want something doing quickly as we already have the gas for our pizza oven.

weber are seen as good but aren’t as good as they used to be but will certainly outlast the cheapo ones

kamado (big green egg, kamado jo, the lidl special buys Etc) is the way to go but they aren’t cheap and you need to be “into” it to be pending that sort of money

I don’t think it’s petty calling them outdoor gas grills personally, I don’t bother to correct people myself but what the majority of brits do with a “bbq” is grilling, it’s just become the accepted phrase though but if you saw someone talking about a rugby game and they were calling it football you’d probably call it out, they’re both sports but very different.

Bbq is a much lower temperature, longer cook and involves the cover being down for capturing the smoke flavour. Nothing wrong with grilling and it’s what most people want when weather is nice - some quick burgers and some chicken breasts etc. But doing a long low temp cook with a gas bbq is tough and expensive on the gas, things like slow cooked ribs, brisket, smoked sausages etc on top of the usual staple things will all taste far better on a bbq than on a grill, it’s just the way it is

no tutting needed 😂

Got a Weber myself, gas one. Got it Friday 2 burner
Which one did you get in the end?

I'm after a charcoal one but I can't figure out whether a £300 Weber one would be better than 6 x £50 ones over 6 years or whatever, they're effectively just a dish and a grill? I can't see my missus being happy with me cooking on a 4 year old BBQ covered in spiders etc.

Or 2 x £150 Aldi duel fuel ones?

Napoleon Travel Q Pro 285 is what I've got and can't recommend it highly enough, been brilliant. Watch Sam the Cooking Guy on YouTube and follow his recipes for burgers. Better than 5 Guys!!

Coal might be better but I can never be arsed with the set-up/clean up. Gas ones are an absolute doddle.

This can be achieved on a gas bbq

a bbq is a bbq despite which method you choose be it charcoal, wood chip or gas. Not sure why people go to lengths to call it something it isn’t

If you’re making your own burgers I’d recommend having a look on MeatMattersLtd website. They do loads of amazing cuts of beef, along with some aged beef mince that will make the best burger you’ve ever had!

Really helpful link this thanks. Have been making different blends by grinding my own. Makes a hell of a difference

Couldn’t recommend them highly enough, quality produce. He updates the website every Thursday around lunch time and delivers early the next week. The T-Bones are phenomenal
