Second shout for anything Weber. I’d go charcoal though and become a true pit master - that’s my plan once the weather picks up I’m going to try smoking some ribs and chicken on the BBQ.

Agree - Weber - but consider charcoal for better results - it's really easy with a good quality charcoal bbq to control temperature

Agree charcoal better results but gas really convenient to have a bbq experience and not throwing everything on with a time frame or if you just want a couple thing bbq’ing

I'm also in the market for a new Gas BBQ. I had a look about did a bit of research and Campingaz came highly recommended. Had Outback previously but looking for a step up. Can anyone vouch for Campingaz and similarly has anyone had experience with Weber which warrants the cost difference. More than happy to pay the extra, providing it can be justified.

Gas BBQ midweek and get the coals out at the weekend when I’ve got the time

White hot charcoal is the only proper way to get the outside of what you're cooking fully carbonised while keeping the middle raw.

Have a look at getting a chimney starter. Takes all the messing about with briquettes away. You can be cooking in 15 minutes.

Doing a BBQ is like making love to a beautiful famous actress.
You must take your time, make sure she's ready before placing your meat/veg and don't rush to the finish as you don't have that opportunity for a perfect BBQ again.
