Remember everyone slating him when he was here? Didn't give him a chance?

35mil worth of rubbish..

Shows what some of our fans know.......🤡🤡🤡🤡

just because a player is transferred for a lot of money doesn't mean they will be a success.

Rhian Brewster, Liverpool to Sheffield United – £23m

Well, based on his performances for boro what did you expect?

Are you suggesting he actually had a good loan spell here?

He's not as good as maybe you think he is, he's gone to the french league and done well, so hes signed for a french club in the french league

At his age, if he was actually a good striker he would cost a lot more than 35 million, hes not even close to premiership class, thats why
Arsenal are happy to get rid, i would sign Archer over him every day of the week because hes demonstrated he can play in British football
Balogun hasn't

I think you'll find it was Wilder who didn't give him a chance. Plenty of us were baffled after he was dropped despite scoring a brace for England U21s.

Well It wasn't, was it? What's changed? We are still pretty much a mid table champo team?

If the season was 12 games long you'd be correct in saying we're a mid table side. As it is it's ridiculously premature and completely ignores our fantastic run last season from 21st to the play offs playing our best football in 20 years.

Always liked him. Wrongly utilised by Wilder I think. Has done very well since leaving.

Going to a top 3-4 side in one of the worlds top five leagues hardly smells of failure to me.

I think he was maybe a season short in his development - he was very much an individual I thought in his spell with us and still emerging as a team player. The gamble with taking young loan players is where will they be at their development. Like us sending out Josh Coburn last season, we are looking at the development of the player long term, more than how it will benefit Bristol Rovers. Am sure Balogun was a far better player for his spell with Boro and would have been massive had we been able to get him again the season after but he was already earmarked for bigger and better things.

Yep. He'd only really been tested in u23 prior to joining us I think?

We did play some decent stuff under Wilder but attacks were quite formulaic. Always struck me as a player who would benefit from more freedom (which he got playing through the middle for Reims last season)

Be interesting to see where he fits in at Monaco. They tend to play two 10s and a CF. Bin Yedder is first choice CF but I would fancy him to oust Minamino for one of the tens (albeit he scored a brace last game!)
