I didn't mention the Tories, just saying trade with Australia isn't necessarily a good thing when related to UK farmers, animal welfare, grain fed livestock, and global warming...

You mean grain fed livestock, transported without water for upto 48 hours, associated deforestation at the expense of better quality UK farmers produce. But if it means cheaper beef and lamb that's all that counts...

To be fair to him, there’s so many failures of Brexit even I’m getting fatigue from it. We know the cult will deny and deflect. We know there is simply no educating certain people on here. The tragedy is it’s going to make their lives poorer. All the brexitists on here will bemoan why everything is more expensive, why they can’t travel, why the country is falling apart. They’ll still blame Putin, or Covid, or France, or Albania. It’s all so depressing that they let the country fail so Baldy and they genuinely don’t know they are doing it

Too early to say, we need another 50 years or so of data to say how much of a disaster it's been and to allow most who voted for it to die of natural causes rather than out of shame if having to admit they were wrong.

It's a fair point, but he's essentially admitting that the criticisms of the deal that were raised at the time were and are valid.

It's not like he's admitting some great secret that no one knew about.

I assume you think that when Eustace calls the deal a failure you belive that it is now null and void.

Fairly sure that is not what Eustace was saying he was just saying how badly Truss negotiated the deal that we are now stuck with eg UK will now have to accept all of the lamb and beef from Australia.

This was a rushed deal to try and pretend that the UK would be able to set up trade deals without the EU.

At least we won in the cricket world cup down there even if the Aussies are still laughing at us.

Dont forget we employed an ex Oz prime minister to help negotiate our deals - guess which side he favoured!
