Exactly, fantastic discipline to maintain the two banks of five throughout and restrict a team like Citeh to only a couple of clear cut chances. This is why football has developed into a game that everyone plays and the results are less predictable than say Rugby.Must admit I love them, and Simeone.
More than one way to skin a cat so to speak and he's done an absolutely incredible job with Atleti.
Don't think this tie is over yet either.
He earns £709 euros a week. Highest paid manager in the world.Horrible horrible manager and team
Despicable man simone and his team play in the same way
Really hope city stuff them
I earn more than that!He earns £709 euros a week. Highest paid manager in the world.
Masterful understatement! A slightly more glamourous Fat Sam team, set up to exploit the limits of the laws. Fascinating only in the way that a vulture feasting on a dead antelope is morbidly watchable. I can imagine nothing worse than having to endure watching them "play" every week. Additionally the bloke is utterly obnoxious and unsporting. Not much "glory" in it as far as I'm concerned.Although the way he sets his teams up and the way he plays football, isn't for everyone, it is nice to see other ways in which football can be played and be successful from it.
Well, I might as well tell you now. You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win underDon RevieDiego Simeone. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest f***ing dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.

Cloughy might have said this about the Dirties but it would apply to Simeone's Athletico team:
100% this, they aren't actually cheating - otherwise they'd be a flurry of red cards every week, fines, bans etc.Just because many don't agree with the way they play, doesn't mean their accolades don't warrant respect.
Football is played in many ways. Would I like to watch football every week the way Simeone plays? Certainly not.
But I do respect how he pushes every boundary to the extent of the law to squeeze out every bit of advantage for themselves.
Love how Simeone winds everyone up and causes complete mayhem.
As someone has pointed out already, that tie isn't over yet.
It's an odd one because his consistent success would point yo a move to a bigger club, but I think those clubs are put off by the style of his foot all, or lack of it to be more precise.I'm surprised he hasn't moved on yet, because what he's done with Atletico has been incredible,
I think you maybe right. It's an odd one because his consistent success would point yo a move to a bigger club, but I think those clubs are put off by the style of his foot all, or lack of it to be more precise.
Nothing to do with 'the new modern fan', it's always been the case, and more so previously than now.I think you maybe right.
In England, the way football is played seems to be very important to the new modern fan.
I think that's also a reason why no bigger club has taken Dyche from Burnley.
Everton would have no problem staying up if they had someone like Dyche in charge, instead they hired Lampard because he'll try and play 'better' football....even though we all know Dyche is a far, far superior manager than Lampard when it comes to getting results.
The likes of Sam Allardyce, Sean Dyche, Diego Simeone as managers with their methods are fast being erased from football because even though they may get results, their performances aren't great and the media/pundits/fans want both.
