I might be wrong, but last summer wasn't his agent talking of the desire to play in the Prem? I don't think money was the motivation.

When have we ever believed agents? They will say anything to get their client the move.

The difference is people don't view Crooks as someone who could play at a higher level. People think Latte Lath can. They are different stages in their career. A PL side would beat pretty much any MLS side for wages. They aren't giving him Messi style wages.

And the not in the top league right now is kind of the point. He is being linked with PL sides as well. This is his opportunity to get there. Making the wrong move now probably kills the opportunity forever.

In Crooks case that is perhaps a bit different as he's English and never moved abroad before. Maybe found he missed his family too much. Lath being from Ivory Coast and has already played in several countries - he's proved he can adapt to different cultures and countries so might be less of an issue for him.

If Boro accept, the fee is set to be an MLS record transfer.
