Asylum seekers to be housed at Catterick Garrison...

The folk of Richmond are not going to like this, but I think Rishi will hang on to his seat. It will certainly worry a couple of the other “red wall’ Tory seats nearby.

His Majority is massive, not sure it will have much of an impact at all. Probably cause less trouble than the squaddies also :ROFLMAO:

It certainly is but aren't Reform UK going to post candidates in every seat? If so they might take a chunk out of his majority:

He'll probably easily hold on mind, but I wonder if more people might be persuaded by Labour this time around. People round here are certainly becoming disillusioned with the Tories, but most of them are true blue anyway so a pig would get in with a blue rosette on!

Can't see reform taking much away from the Richmond, Stokesley, Northallerton areas. Think those types of parties have had their day after seeing the complete mess of Brexit.

That’s why I said people?
I think it was describing people as a burden. This is what the government pogrom is doing to you isn't it? Making asylum seekers an enemy, making you think there is a problem that doesn't exist. You just look at the language. Another ruling party in Europe once convinced its people that a certain group were a "problem" and they searched for a final solution.

I am not convinced Sunak is serious about Catterick Garrison's use.

I am wondering is this just his way of trying to force MP's like Edward Leigh to U turn on Scampston and elsewhere by avoiding/dodging the double standards accusation. He can always find a reason not to go ahead once other sites have done so!

Anyway, being a true blue tory, he is perhaps more likely to use Catterick Racecourse stables blocks i'd have thought.

Burden is a fair word without being derogatory or inflamitary. There is a heavy load on the country and it should be shared equally.
The boats and illegal entry must be slowed down and hopefully eventually stop. Get people who have valid reasons to be here and get them here legally and safely and get them into society

It isn't though. It's part of the pogrom. The government has conned you into thinking it's a burden, it isn't. It's a way of creating a bogeyman so they can get on with all their corruption and eroding our rights whilst you are distracted.

Let's be clear: There are no legal routes for a lot of these people to come here BUT, they do have a legal right to seek asylum here, ergo they are allowed to come here. I know the government has used the incorrect word "illegal" so many times that you have fallen for it but you don't have to. Simply this: The government COULD process asylum claims a lot quicker. It choses not to and therefore creates a "burden" of housing claimants. It then tells you that they are the problem.
