Ashley Fletcher 'pondering his options'

Could we find another run of the mill that is 25 years old with the potential to be top scorer again? And for the same wage we are offering Fletcher and presumably small transfer fee. Someone that will hit the ground running. Neil Warnock failed to find anyone to fit that bill this season and has said how difficult he has always found it through his career to sign goalscoring centre forwards.
If its goalscoring centre forwards he wants why would we be after Fletcher again?

15 in his career at Championship level or above.

I'm clearly in the minority here but I like the lad and I hope he signs a new deal. He's had terrible luck with injuries but he's way better than Britt or Akpom.

He gets injured far too much for my liking we've paid him enough now time to move on to someone else. He is only rated like he is due to when your injured you seem better than when your on the pitch messing up. It's not going to ripe the league up like Toney, Watkins, Bamford and Austin have done. We need to sign a gem who turns out to be a wonder kid

Difficult one for the lads. Stick or Twist? If he’s party of Warnock plans and he can do what it takes then sticking would be the best option. Bigger gamble to rock up to a new outfit and come up with whatever they are after..

Err, like who exactly.... ? Getting rid of players who you know can do a job and replacing them with 'wonder kids' is what gets you relegated...seen it all before !

We’re already short on numbers and quality up front (and elsewhere), we’ll have precious little money to spend anyway so if we can get him to commit on a lower wage then it’s sensible as it might allow a bit more money to be spent on better quality.

He might just come good, or not, but it’s probably much cheaper than signing someone new for a fee when we’ll already be signing others to replace what we’re losing and don’t have.

All that said, agree on having a deadline, he’s not so good it’s worth dragging the situation on for long.

Astonishing that some posters on here believe he is worth persevering with.... after failing miserably in his first season... he fails miserably at Sunderland and assists in their relegation....then fails miserably again here to help us nearly get relegated ....then has a ‘little bit of form’ before being injured....and producing nothing in an attempt to earn a new contract. I’m sure it’s really difficult in our position to sign capable strikers but ....surely there are better options !

We will be signing proven quality in the summer to win the league such as Charlie Austin then compliment with promising players like that Clarke-Harris from Peterbrough. As with Corna FFP is kinda scrap so Gibson handbreak can be released for a spending spree to finally smash the league 😜

He’s scored one or two spectacular goals for us but this season he’s been MIA. Now that may not be the reason to discard him but I’m don’t think he can assume that he’s going to be considered our number one striker next season if he does sign. Moreover I doubt very much he’ll get any offers which are on par with ours.

Never had a injury free season really , seems nowhere near since his return , inconsistent at best & seems a little disinterested now imho
I’m certain Warnock would never purchase someone like Fletcher as he doesn’t have a big enough heart
Same goes for Britt and Chuba
Basically, Warnock needs at least 2 forwards if not 3 to mount a serious promotion push

Thought a while ago that Fletcher had turned the corner and was finally going to look the part and score a few goals. This year we are back to square one and we have to get him off the moneygoround. As said earlier offer him a contract but if he doesn't sign by a certain date move on to Plan B or C or XYZ.
We are lucky both Britt and Fletcher are out of contract! We could be stuck with them
