Arrogant and clueless drivers - more about than ever?

Seem to come across it every day now. I was heading out this aft and there was a van parked on the opposite side of the road to me with someone approaching it/me. I was clearly visible so was ready for them to realise the rules of the road and let me through, when the silly old tvvat came barging through regardless without even slowing down (I thought f*** this and did the same to give them something to think about) and proceeded to lean on his horn and wave his arms at me, assuming me to be in the wrong! Absolutely raging for the rest of my journey. You'd think being about 70 years old he'd have been aware of at least the basics of the highway code, or was it just pure entitlement? I used to quite enjoy driving, definitely don't these days. 🤬🤬

I have 2 absolute massive 'gripes' at the moment and frankly it seems to be getting worse....

The biggest one is folk sitting in the middle lane on a motorway doing 50-70 mph and not remotely overtaking anything. So I'm sat at 70 in the first lane and a car is going 60 in the middle. I have to go all the way round to slot back into the first lane. I swear today I could have under taken over a hundred cars driving to Barnet. Just sat oblivious like it's a cruising lane😔

You'd think they would move over when massive HGVs are under taking them (because they can't go round into the 3rd lane). I genuinely think I'd having a full on road rage if I was an HGV driver dealing with that everyday.

The 2nd isn't as bad but in 'full operation' numerous times today. People simply don't use indicators.... I mean at all😕. It's not f*cking hard. The amount of roundabouts I came to a stop at only for some bell to turn off the exit before. I didn't have to stop.
It takes one second to do. It's really not rocket science.

Oh and one small one... If someone flashes you out then at least raise a hand or give a knowing nod to say thanks. Basic Manners😂

You can tell I've had a long drive on the none moving M25 today lol.

Indicating right at a roundabout then heading straight on, who was ever taught this on their driving lessons.
No one ever admits to to belonging to the CLOC (Centre Lane Owners Club) but there's plenty about.
People who drive with blinkers on and with little or no idea of what's going on around them.

People who cut the corner when turning right onto a road.

When you are coming up to a T junction you have to be careful when getting to the end of the road in case someone takes your front end off coming from your left.

Lazy selfish pricks

Non indication is a given irritation. Probably the same people who cut corners.

A lot more aggressive speeders these days who tailgate and weave in and out of lanes.

Have to agree
Did two trips up to Middlesbrough last month, to pick up my Dad and then drop him off again, Longest journey I had done for a year and a half.
I was struck how bad lane discipline is, as you say
The worst offender was a girl on the third lane of the M1 doing about 55 and she was looking at her mobile phone resting on her steering wheel when I passed her. I was doing 70 on cruise control, and I left her behind me still in the 3rd lane

I endorse this message

If someone is crawling along doing 50 inthe middle lane, I'm staying in my lane on their left and crusing past at 70mph. I'm not moving across three lanes to overtake them.
I do this too. Back in the day if I was feeling particularly bored and angry I’d “circumnavigate” them by overtaking. Pulling in to the inside lane, let them overtake then pull out again and overtake. In the hope they would get the hint. It’s rare they did. I now flash my lights to let them know they are in the wrong lane. This is also often ignored or upsets them

It says something when you and I live in the county of caravans and tractors, and the driving is worse on the M1 !

Totally agree with original post.

Middle lane drivers - constantly see this and especially frustrating when there is nothing in, or up ahead, in the left lame.

People who don’t move over when approaching a slip road. So many people don’t know to move over into the right lane, or adjust speed up or down accordingly, when cars are trying to join the road from a slip road.

On the road back from Whitby only today, a black Audi pulled out and overtook myself and four other cars. A caravan was coming the opposite direction and he misjudged it. All four cars had to heavily brake (amazing we never all went into the back of each other) and also the caravan had to brake or he would never had made it. He then sped off into the distance. Now if he wants to risk his own life so be it, but he nearly caused an accident that could have killed people in five other different vehicles and it has had my blood boiling all day. Not the only time I’ve seen this recently

Oh, and also people who can clearly see a lane is closing up ahead but still drive past every other car and try to cut in at the last second. Especially on the A19 at the moment.

People turning left who don't move into the crown of the road stopping the traffic from going round them

People who cut the corner when turning left onto a road.

YES! This happens a lot as I turn onto the main road out of our street.

Roundabouts for me. People seem to have decided you don't have to give way to the right anymore.
The roundabout at Coulby near the Cathedral is a nightmare. The cars coming down from the Southern Cross or from the Hemlington end just treat the road as a straight road and do not recognise the roundabout as something to slow down at.
Accidents every week there.
