Are we in a relegation fight

I think we’re going to finish between 10th and 14th. The season will drift along to its end and we’ll carry on winning one, losing one, and towards the end of the season a raft of teenagers will be given their debuts. I don’t see us troubling either end of the table now tbh.

What is wrong with you?

You can’t guarantee victory so why say it?

I get you are either employed by the club, high on meth or trolling but don’t word it like you know what will happen.
We are a different beast away from home, I’m confident we will beat them.

I’m not sure why you are so riled about what I said?

We are on the fringes of a relegation battle ATM, if Stoke beat us we're drawn even into it, 6 points is too close to ignore out with risky game play & back to moving the ball forward with intent & pace..

What a weird response. So the lad thinks we will win at Stoke, what is wrong with that?
Have you not seen the ignorance of his posts, which completely goes against anything which is playing out in front of everyone else’s eyes. I am not the first on this board to question if he is a troll.

Oh and he didn’t say I think we will win. He said we will win. Nobody knows that.

Odd, I am posting my opinions on a message board, crazy stuff.

No. We probably need one more win for safety.
We can definitely drop further in the table though and end up around the 16th-18th position which is a total failure after last season.

It’s the content which gets most people’s backs up. You put a positive spin on everything to do with the club, even the pricing structure.

I prefer to live in the real world, where I feel I can praise and criticise in a balanced manner.

Surely that’s my prerogative?

I think what some people are missing the point of is not so much points but performances. Yes we are 9 points above relegation but performance wise we are struggling massively.

We do not keep clean sheets. That means to win a game we have to score at least 2 goals. And we do not have a striker you could hang your hat on. Unlike say Sunderland who have Jack Clarke and Patrick Robert’s, who you could give the ball to and they may do something all on their own, we have no individual player who will beat a man or two and score or create out of nothing. Teams who concede goals and struggle to score inevitably go down.

Since January, when we knew we needed at least 2 forward players, we have let go Crooks and Rogers who were capable of chipping in with a goal.

At the end of the day Rotherham will be gone and we realistically only need 4 more wins unless 2 teams have incredible runs so it is unlikely but it is frightening how poor we look. As we simply cannot defend we must play 5 at the back, even at home, to give us solidity, but older generations will remember seasons such as 1988/89 where we went down with a horrendous run after Xmas, and the 2012/2013 season where if the season had went on another week or two, Mowbray would have taken us down as we were horrendous after Christmas, and this is the feeling I currently have with this team. That run in early 2013 also included a victory over the runaway leaders (Cardiff) just to echo that although we beat Leicester, that has no guarantees we will beat lower sides.

There's not a huge gulf between a playoff team and a relegation team in the championship. It's a strange situation where a squad can be bad enough to go down and also be good enough to get promoted with the right play style, form and a bit of luck. Just need to look at the difference between Wilder and Carrick with the same group of players last season.

I don't think there's any danger of relegation at all but there's a danger we end up closer to the relegation spots than we do the playoffs.

We have very little star quality in the squad. The recruitment, despite what people keep claiming, has been dreadful. We have a squad full of mediocre championship players which is why we're a mediocre championship team.

We don't even need 4 wins. 50 points will keep you up which is two wins. Or a win and a few draws. We aren't going down but it's a reflection on how poor it has been that people even think it could happen
