Are we in a relegation fight

Maybe so but what’s the issue with being positive? Maybe try it.
Let me apologise Mr Bausor, I’m so sorry for falling off the bandwagon and thank you so much for this MFC realignment session.

I have now renewed my ST and left a large tip to apologise. In addition to my tip, I promise to clap as loud as I can for the entire 90 minutes at the next home match, which i am sincerely hoping will drown out the boos from the 20 odd thousand idiots sat around me.

Strange post but apology accepted.

4 wins required I think
QPR, Stoke, Millwall and Huddersfield are all 7-9 points behind us. They've only won 8 or 9 games each out of 34. Or one game in 8. They aren't all suddenly going to put together 6 or 7 wins in their last 12.

One of them might find a bit of form but no way do all 4 teams get to 56 points like you are suggesting. We've probably actually got enough points now but 50 will definitely get us safe.

points wise, low 50’s should do it.

Next tgree
Stoke (A)
Norwich (H)
QPR (A)

So we can handle business ourselves. Two draws in those away games might do it. But……..if we gift wrap three points for both Stoke and QPR then the squeaky bum trumpet could start playing

it's becoming quite easy to predict our results. We lose at home to bottom half teams after winning away to top half teams. Continuation of this form means we should win at least 2 more (and perhaps another). Would have to be a catastrophic run in to be in the mix for relegation, similar to the beginning of season (oh dear.. I forgot about that).

I don’t disagree, I’d just like us to maintain a decent cushion so as not to have any worries at all.

I think what some people are missing the point of is not so much points but performances. Yes we are 9 points above relegation but performance wise we are struggling massively.

We do not keep clean sheets. That means to win a game we have to score at least 2 goals. And we do not have a striker you could hang your hat on. Unlike say Sunderland who have Jack Clarke and Patrick Robert’s, who you could give the ball to and they may do something all on their own, we have no individual player who will beat a man or two and score or create out of nothing. Teams who concede goals and struggle to score inevitably go down.

Since January, when we knew we needed at least 2 forward players, we have let go Crooks and Rogers who were capable of chipping in with a goal.

At the end of the day Rotherham will be gone and we realistically only need 4 more wins unless 2 teams have incredible runs so it is unlikely but it is frightening how poor we look. As we simply cannot defend we must play 5 at the back, even at home, to give us solidity, but older generations will remember seasons such as 1988/89 where we went down with a horrendous run after Xmas, and the 2012/2013 season where if the season had went on another week or two, Mowbray would have taken us down as we were horrendous after Christmas, and this is the feeling I currently have with this team. That run in early 2013 also included a victory over the runaway leaders (Cardiff) just to echo that although we beat Leicester, that has no guarantees we will beat lower sides.
There are similarities I agree..

Not really, no. We’re going to miss out on the playoffs imho now. But that’s an extreme view given by the OP.

Chronic injuries and missing out on a striker have derailed our season - that’s all there is to it.
What about the bizarre team selections, tactics and shutting players out in the cold, only to bring them back and shut someone else out.

We won’t go down, and I don’t think we’ll even be in a relegation fight, but there is a lot more wrong with our season that you suggest.

Still plenty of clubs between us and the bottom 3.

Although getting beat by Stoke will certainly do nothing to help the potential of us getting sucked into the mix. Also QPR coming up.

It's absolutely ridiculous that a few weeks ago we were looking at Hull etc in the battle for 6th. We are now 9 points off the bottom 3 and worrying about Stoke 🙄

Who on here could seriously say the expect us to beat Stoke or QPR? I'm struggling to see anyone where it's a 'banker'. We can't keep a clean sheet and don't score enough. It's a kinda combination that could see us get into a bit of trouble.

That said maybe having to play with a bit of urgency may help. We seem to be going through the motions like the season is already over.

We are.toothless by enlarge.

I don't expect us.to score the goals.required to win 4 games As mentioned by an earlier poster.

We very rarely keep a clean sheet

I don't think.we will go down truly i dont but by the last 2 weeks we will be in danger of it and will be sweating profusely looking at other results

So a.series of 0 0 results is the most We can. Hope for.

Yayyyy.......

Go gibbo city chiefs...

I've been fairly pessimistic this week since Saturday and that hasn't changed.

We are floating around with no upwards purpose from behind the scenes it seems.

That's the bit that is guiling

Gibbo is such a top.man...consolidating massive debt in the background....but I'm still bemused why we haven't backed carrick in the transfer market with the quality of player needed to put us in the Hunt for a top 2

Why ? Is it ptsd from wilder pulis monk et Al?

We may never again be in with a hint for top 2 with balloon payments etc which is understandable but to not be in with a strong chance of winning any play offs we qualify for seems pretty uninspiring.

I don't want mediocrity as.a.season ticket holder of many years standing on and off....I want men on the pitch battling hard....crunching tackles...fighting for every ball...fast flowing football....a big man up front as an option....
Pacy wingers pinging it in rippers stylee...
Then I won't care if we get beat.....

At least we smashed our opponents and made them work for it....and let them think fugg me I don't want to go to boro again.....

I said it at the start of the season. This is a team that has relegation written all over it. Of course we are.
