It's not listed whether they are serious NHS presentees or people wanting diagnosis for work reasons. If it's similar to the rest of the country, the percentage of new infections is significantly lower than it was a month ago when Teesside were getting 25% increases, albeit of a smaller number. Also, about half of all positives are now NHS workers according to a report today, and that's spurrred a study of repeated testing of 130 NHS staff to try and understand more about means of transmission.Another rise in infections?
It will still be rising when we finally get let out for good behaviour! Almost certainly that won't be next week. We'll get blackmailed into a take-up of the NHS app in a few weeks time and if enough people do that, things may get relaxed in three more weeks. But if it's still rising it's still rising regardless of whom or where though isn't it?
Sensing another 3 week extension on Thursday with NO relaxation of any measures.
So what's the point in the special measures now then? Extra capacity has been built, doctors and nurses aren't overran as much as was predicted (see TikTok if you don't believe me) and cases are still going up so the deaths will go back up isn't that what they told us? Whatever the cases do deaths will follow?
LinkSo far, 582 people in Middlesbrough have tested positive for Covid-19. Of those, 368 had been admitted to the local James Cook university hospital by the end of last week, according to Mark Adams, Middlesbrough’s director of public health. As of last Thursday, 139 local people had died from coronavirus, including 100 in hospital, 36 in care homes, one at home and one in a hospice.
I hadn't realised that! The statement on those who had Covid-19 but not tested not being counted is odd. I guess that means it's on the death certificate but won't be counted without a test being carried out. No wonder this method comes up with a much lower number than excess deaths.Lot of pages for this thread now so not sure if I missed it being said but I never realised that a death following a pillar 2 +ve test is not counted in the DHSC death figures
