Anyone think houchen will get back in?

Can someone tell what the TVM Labour candidate is pledging, all I have seen his is saying about keeping the airport going. The only papers through my door are about voting on the second of May are about national issues and not local. Quotes from people in Beeston, Dudley and West Bromwich, unless they are Taxi drivers.

Return free parking to struggling town centres
Bring buses back under public control
Introduce a £2 fare cap on ALL public travel within the Tees Valley area (currently this only applies to certain bus operators and routes)
Make travel to work or school free for under-18s (though exactly how isn't specified)
Introduce a Guaranteed Skills and Employment Review to everyone at ages 16, 24 and 50
Invest in state of the art CCTV cameras for troubled town centres and proper streetlights (as opposed to fake ones?)
Open the books on Teesworks and call for a full audit by the NAO (this last one is the big one as far as i'm concerned.)

It is a big thing for the tories.

Honestly, I have heard nothing from the Labour Party as to who is standing and what the policies are.

Labour will win the general election, so it will be terrible for Teesside to have Ben in with a 400 plus Labour majority.

Id he wins a bet a general election is called. The tories are toast.

Same - I had to Google it and learnt it is Chris McEwan. Even his Facebook account doesn't necessarily shout "I'm trying to become a local Mayor!". It is quite sparse.

When Chris McEwan is door-stepping voters I wonder how often he or the voter mention the freeport and the corruption taking place there. Or is free car parking the main concern?

For me, the parking costs really are not an issue - in most places around Stockton, it is £1 for 3 hours parking. It must bring in a slow, steady stream of income to an ever-struggling authority.

I don't want free parking, I'd prefer a Mayor who understands the needs of Tees Valley residents. I dare say even bringing the NAO into the manifesto flies over most peoples heads - people are far too concerned for their own well-being and home life to be concerned about the outcome of an audit investigation whereby the defendant will most likely not face any consequence.

It's £1.80 for 1 hour in Redcar, £2.40 for every additional hour after that, and the charges have been brought in specifically because Ben Houchen withdrew funding and then tried to paint is as a Labour decision.

If you don't care about your local area and our resources getting robbed blind that's fine, lots of people do.

3 hours free at Morrisons.

Worrying news for Ben if he does get re-elected (and even if he doesn't!)

That was my earlier point.

Houchen may get reelected. The very expensive champagne corks will be popped. He will frantically try to get as much out of Teessworks as he can, destroying all evidence as he goes.

The the NAO step in when Labour get elected......and when Gove was clearly sh*tting it as to what they would uncover, hence his own soft touch "investigation"....🍿🍿🍿

I was over near Teesworks today. Lots of work going on including some massive structure being built. To those who said no jobs have been created there seemed to have been plenty to me.
