Anyone think houchen will get back in?

In response to the OP, why would he?

Admittedly I don't live in the area any more but the collective amnesia really as pronounced as it was back in 2016?

Turkeys voting for Christmas again, rinse and repeat. Seem to love a bit of self harm on Teesside in recent years don't we ?. The area will get the Mayor it deserves.

Ben Houchen spent yesterday afternoon on Chris McEwan's facebook page commenting on all his posts and arguing with his supporters

Totally normal behaviour from an elected representative and not at all a sign that he's well rattled.

Houchen thought this would be a walk in the park, but thanks to Private Eye, The Yorkshire Post, Steve Gibson, Teesside Resistance and now Carol Vorderman (yes he actually blocked her, causing her to post about him with the #BinBen tag!) he now knows it's not going to be.

Aaaaaaand, even if he does get re-elected, he has an incoming Labour government and the NAO breathing down his neck.

Win-win, really.
 
Concerningly, I have a sinking, awful feeling that it will be another Brexit or Trump 2016: he shouldn't win but he will.
Utterly sickening, it is a hideous thought. What else is left for him to gift to his associates, supporters and friends?
Nepotism: if he could give away our air so his mates could profit from it, he would.

Tories always use the same playbook because it works so frequently.

You're right. Sadly. He os blind to get back in. He just blatantly lies now and his acolytes need and go 7000 jobs! Or what have you.

Let's just hope the comrades os Teesside Resistance have gained some traction and helped cut through all the lies

The Tories reckon Ben and the West Midland mayor are their only hopes of saving face. Labour need a huge swing on Teesside. So ever a narrow win for Houchen could mean we get a summer election - the Tories will want want Sunak gone and he's more likely to call an election than let them vote him out themselves.

Although I do like the idea of him getting back in then labour forcing a proper NAO investigation into Teessworks. Another Tory scandal
 
I can't bring myself to vote for the Labour guy just don't warm to him at all. The Lib Dem guy looks like one of the 4 musketeers so that's a no too. I will be voting for Ben as for me the only credible candidate. I certainly don't agree with all his actions and not a Tory either but I just don't trust Labour at all especially Mcdonald who I just cannot comprehend what he has done for Middlesbrough.

So despite all the allegations of corruption, you don't think you can trust Labour?

If you're happy with the alleged corruption, what is that Labour might do that worries you?
