Anyone know where Mark Drury was

I asked this on a few threads but can’t see any answers, given it was a league game I thought it was odd how our main commentator wasn’t there. Was there a reason for his absence as I can’t recall hearing it.
 
There will have been a reason, though I don't know it, because he was interviewing Blackwell the other day.

Might even be Covid restrictions limiting who can travel?
 
Thanks I just found it odd that’s he’s missing again, as I’ve never known a Boro commentator miss so many boro games as this bloke does.

isn’t this his main job ?
 
Tees have been banging on a lot recently about the privileged positions they are in, to be allowed in to every Boro game live. And then Drury just fancies a week off. A lot of fans would love to swap places 🙄
 
The new lad does it better, he simply commentates on the game rather than trying to think of stupid things to say. Maddo seems to bounce off him better aswell. They should consider sacking Drury and giving this new lad the job full time

"Sacking" did I read that right? You are asking for someone to be sacked?
Am a friend of both Mark and Rob, both have done really well as local lads that worked hard through work experience and internship - they made rapid strides learning their trade, though still very young when they started out.
Of course everyone has opinions on commentary but I really think it is appalling to want someone to be sacked, with all that entails for them and their families.

Sack may be the wrong word. Replaced then. Or Drury go back to being the interviewer, he isn’t a very good commentator. Just because you know him doesn’t change that, I was poor at one of my old jobs and got told so I got sacked. Thankfully I am good at my new one, it happens.

I am sure it was merely a turn of phrase rob, I would think he meant replaced as the main commentator In reality.

The thing I find most irritating about Druary are his constant little skits and quips, he's a right sarckie b***r and it gets annoying.
