Anyone feel like they may have got a little bit carried away?

About Wilder and Burnley. I’m guilty of it myself. I think too much time online contributes to it. Doom-scrolling and clicking like here and there, and then being fed more of what you like. You sort of notice how things operate now when stories like this pop up.

It feels as though Wilder just answers questions in the way that he does. Perhaps a lot of others wouldn’t answer them that way, perhaps we need to get to know him better. Perhaps we need to trust him more. I still think he could’ve handled the questions and speculation better but maybe that’s me putting my expectations onto someone else and then reacting when that person does things differently. Maybe a lot of us just over-reacted. Some more then others, but still.

We also may have to get used to it. He’s probably going to be linked to a lot more jobs as long as he’s with us. Because he’s a good manager with a very good track record. Forget the last 3 or 4 results, his stock his high.

Speaking of stock, maybe some of us should take a little more of that before jumping on speculation in the way a lot of us have since Monday afternoon. I know I’ll be trying to do that in future.

Roll on Saturday and Swansea City.

No I don't think people have got carried away at all, it seemed like a silly rumour that could have been put to bed in a few seconds by wilder in the post game interview. However his reaction is the thing that has blown everything out of proportion. There's on person to blame and its our manager.

Not carried away at all. Hes trained to answer question correctly without causing problems. He failed massively. That's true whether he goes or not.
By doing so he has caused problems with the fans the owners and the players.
It was simple to deal with. He didn't and still hasn't
how do you know he has caused problems with the owners and the players? I wouldn't be surprised if they were all having a big laugh about it.

"Look lads, I'm gonna give a half hearted ambiguous answer to any questions about Burnley. The fans will be so distracted none of them will be bothered about how cack we've been in the last 3 games. Genius eh ?"

Apparently Burnley are looking for an interim manager now.

My thoughts would be that he will leave if they stay up and we stay down. He stays if we go up, regardless of what Burnley do.

In the most likely scenario: we stay down and they go down then it depends what kind of resources Burnley offer him. We'll have the Spence cash, but how much of that gets reinvested remains to be seen.
