Any whiskey connoisseurs on here?

Where is this chap in Edinburgh? im going there end of this month so would like to bring some home?

Anyone know any other good places in Edinburgh to buy?
I found an independent shop at the top of Cockburn Street almost on the corner with the Royal Mile when getting a bottle of 18yr old for my son's 18th birthday. Unfortunately the name escapes me but he specialises in the niche market. He'll also sell you the usual suspects too. Bonus points........ samples are available!

But in terms of what I drink then Islay most definately. Saying that the missus bought me a bottle of Highland a couple of years back and the heather and honey aftertaste was sublime. Currently working my way through a bottle of 12 yr old Tobermory.

I bought a bottle from Tesco this afternoon (I know not exactly a specialist store, but I’m still a newcomer to whisky really) I bought a fancy looking bottle of Jura 14 Year old single malt, £30 but down from £42 on a Clubcard offer and I love a deal!

Will settle in tonight once my kids are in bed and have a couple of them over ice and digest the weeks events, muse over what the weekend might bring, just generally have an hour or so of thought sorting!

Skip the ice, just a teaspoon of water is enough to unlock the aroma.

Loch Fyne Whiskies is on Cockburn St.

Other good shops -

Woodwinters, Newington Rd
Graham's, Rose St
Jeffrey St Whisky
Whisky Shop, Waverley Market
Cadenhead, Canongate

Make sure you know what you like before you part company with serious money. Everyone can find a whisky that they like, but no whisky appeals to everyone. Go to the Whiski Room on N Bank St to eat and try lots of different sorts.

If anyone has a spare bottle of Glenmorangie Cellar 13, I will take it off their hands.... 😏
