Anthony Joshua Agrees Terms to Fight Tyson Fury on December 3rd (or not)

So Fury is delivering another mega fight after signing to fight Chisora . The Trilogy that absolutely nobody wants to see.

Not currently ranked in the top 15 across any of the Federations except the WBC (where he is currently ranked 14th).

He is becoming an insult to the sport. Either retire and vacate the belt or make a proper a fight you big gobshyte.

True, I mean here we are 4 years as a championship belt holder, and he's got 2 defences, TWO. One against the man he easily beat to win the title second time, Wilder, a man with no record of beating top 10 heavyweights. The other against Whyte, who is a decent boxer, but has no wins against top 10 boxers either.

He's a paper champion until he gets in the ring with top 5 guys.

He tried, but AJ is a complete shi thouse.

Most can see right through Joshua and knew he'd bottle it.
There's another 20 fighters he could have attempted to make a fight with that would be more interesting than this fight.

Forget AJ and the reasons why this fight has or hasn't happened. Why is he fighting Chisora?

I agree with the fact he should be fighting someone a hell of a lot stronger and worthy than Chisora. No doubt about it.

However, AJ clearly ran away.
Usyk was never an option this winter. Then who else is there?

He's already dismantled Wilder twice (arguably 3 times).

After those 3 there's not a lot of great (hard to even say great) heavyweight boxers left (granted there's a lot better than Chisora out there).

Joseph Parker, Joe Joyce. Andy Ruiz are probably the next best 3? Even then, he'd probably beat all those 3 in the same night.

IMO, the standard of HW boxing currently isn't great.

Whoever he fought outside of Usyk/AJ was going to be a bit of a circus show.

You've mentioned 3 in your post.
You've also got a re-match with Wallin as an option that would have been better than a third fight with Chisora. Also got a couple of unbeaten fighters in Hrgovic and Sanchez.

There's fighters out there that you could argue are no better than Chisora such as the lad Hrgovic beat. Zhang or whatever he's called. He looked like he hold good power. A least it's a different challenge. A different style. Not the same fight we've seen twice before.

Why does he have to fight this winter? He was retired 2 months ago. Because he knows the best fighters aren't available. Why should he come out of retirement and start demanding that people face him in 10-12 weeks? Fighters who are coming off the back off tough camps and fights. Why not fight Usyk in the spring? Get it signed now. Why not fight Joyce in the Spring?

it's a view, it's not "clear"
I'm not even acknowledging this. There are clearly two sides to this, and no one really knows the details. It's a waste of energy even arguing about it.

But it's really irrelevant to Fury's next choice of fighter. My point has always been in this thread that Fury pads his CV with poor fighters and does not defend the belts against worthy opponents.

Clearly does not try hard enough to get himself in front of top fighters.

He beat the man, therefore he is the man. No paper champion about it.

Isn't a fight v Usyk in the spring being mentioned a few times? I'm sure I've read a few articles suggesting this may happen. Fury has obviously called him out a few times, but that again could be just noise.

Just a shame AJ didn't accept the lucrative offer as we'd be looking forward to a very good British heavyweight clash this winter.

It's been mentioned. There's been a lot of things mentioned by Fury. He very rarely delivers on what he mentions though

Is the Chisora fight 100% confirmed?

Surely it's a tune-up fight before fighting Usyk in Feburary? I agree there is better opponents out there for him though, I'd have like to have seen him fight Andy Ruiz.

Lots on here were saying Fury would have his hands full with Dillan Whyte. Or is Whyte now a "poor fighter" ?

The chisora fight is better than the charr fight
Great achievement. He managed to find a fight that is marginally better than fighting an unranked boxer who was knocked out by the only top 10 fighter he'd ever faced (Povetkin).

Well Done Mr Fury

Ruiz would be utterly pointless. Look at what Joshua did to him in the rematch. Fury could probably sleep walk through that fight.

Ruiz would have been a good fight. It's something different. Different style.

Probably (y) at least we would find out.

Instead, we are learning that Fury can beat a man he's already beaten twice, who's been beaten 12 times and is on his way out.
