Another step on the road to little insular England

People who depend on that aid money will starve to death- I am utterly ashamed to be British.
Foriegn Aid is one of the best investments a country could make as returns in terms of business opportunities, exports and development would dwarf the money paid out. Instead, China and Russia will fill the gap taking the business with them. The UK will end up with nowt- i.e.- give nowt-get nowt.

Yep this government and a lot of their MPs have blood on their hands. Although not British blood in this instance, so they'll probably think that's all right.

The "we can't afford it" excuse is nonsense too. It's a % of national income. So if we're poorer as a country we pay less anyway. Jingoistic ideology is all it is, as per. They're an absolute F***ing disgrace. Even their own former PM's think so.

I often joke about Britain become North Europe’s North Korea. It’s tongue in cheek and extreme of course but we do seem to be implementing some of their foreign policies!
I guess I don’t understand nationalism? I thought it meant wanting to have pride in your country? How can you do that by isolating yourself and becoming nasty and spiteful?

This country is one of the only in the world with effectively a two child policy! That's pretty North Korean isn't it?!
 
The tories are poison, everything they do and say is putrid.

Policies like this are the reason Labour needs to stick to its membership's left wing principles. The current leadership and the Miliband years give the tories way too much leeway helping them build up myths that some policies like foreign aid or benefits are "unaffordable".

Yeah and Ive just been browsing and read a thread on a Fulham football messageboard where most of them believe that Boris is a star for cutting it so clearly playing to his political base.
 
One argument that I keep seeing trotted out by the Mail/Express little Englanders is that ‘we can’t be sending our money abroad when we have so many in poverty and in trouble here.’

Can somebody explain to these people that we have not, and we will not be spending that money ‘saved’ on our own people in poverty and in desperate need?!
 
When you cut off vital funds that will keep thousands of people alive on the basis of ideology not affordability, a percentage of GDP is always affordable, and then press on with plans to build a £200m vessel to be used by the Government under the guise of a replacement Royal Yacht then it displays in very real terms the selfishness and self interest at the heart of all Johnson’s policy, I’m not going to blame Conservative’s, as many voted against it, but the cult of Johnsonism and the harm that his self interest is doing to not just this country but now the wider world.

It’s not a Royal Yacht it’s a floating embassy for government use that will be made available to the Royal family on occasions, expect the Johnson’s to use it now they’ve been reprimanded for taking free holidays as undisclosed gifts from donors.
