Another international break

It's came at a great time for us, gives Wilder time to adjust.

Hopefully England qualify for the World Cup on Friday too.

It's absolutely awful. I'm a tournament England fan. I have little or no interest in qualifiers as we pretty much breeze through (we don't even have to get out of 2nd gear). I don't even look to see what the squad is.

I imagine the majority of club managers just pray they come back fit. We are pretty 'lucky' with only 3 away (I think).

That said T20 semi on Wed and hopefully a final at the weekend 👍

I'm sure one of Wenger's proposals to improve the game is to have all the international qualifiers/fixtures played in something like two main batches at the start or end of the season. A better idea than his crackpot biannual World Cup cobblers.

Having them in the summer between seasons makes sense.

But Wenger's suggestion was for a month long international break in October which is the worst of all worlds, one huge split in the season as it's just getting started instead of 4 average sized ones throughout.

As others have said perfect timing really in terms of injuries and giving Wilder a bit of time on the training pitch he wouldn't otherwise have playing twice a week.

Bonus that it's come off the back of a very good point away from home too, morale should be fairly decent, no dwelling on a bad defeat.

But yeah, I also agree, international breaks - bloomin boring.

How can people hate watching the best England team in decades? Even with those left out or withdrawn it's still a squad packed with talented lads.

Get a couple of beers after a working week on Friday and enjoy.

I don’t mind them if they’re competitive games, but the majority of qualifying games are massively one sided.
The nations league is surprisingly good in comparison.

It's not hating watching England, although most qualifiers are processional, it's more the lack of Boro matches and then all the other televised club games we live on a diet of.

They should filter out the amount of teams in the groups, have groups of 4 instead of 5, to reduce the amount of games at least.

A way of doing this could be making the likes of Gibraltar and San Marino compete in qualifiers for the qualifying groups.
