All Wilders January Signings have proven to be rubbish

I disagree completely. McGree is a very, very good signing and will be vital next season. I can see why Connolly and Balogun were signed as they fit the way we play. Both are good at the pressing game and positioning wise are really good.

The problem is that they continued to play despite poor performances and failing to score goals. But then again, neither of the other strikers have been prolific either. I'd have preferred Uche to stay though, he at least offered a different, more physical option that we were calling out for in some of our recent games.
Its way to early to say McGree is a good signing I think the jury is still out on him he was appalling against hull and to me looks light weight.hopefully he will come good Time will tell

Where did Warnock have us finishing last season with a fog dirt squad.. 10th?

Where are we now under Magic Chris?
9th!!

Great stuff!
Come on now. Warnock had 22 points after 17 games and got sacked. We're now on 63 points after 42 games.

That's 1.3 points per game for Warnock and 1.64 points per game for Wilder.

We've been poor for the last month and just slipped down to 9th but Wilder is doing a far better job on both stats, which don't lie, and playing with an identity. I know we're all raging after that game, but perspective.

People were loving McGree this time last week. Taylor has done a good job since he arrived and people were loving that, too, and wanted him to sign on until the end of the season. The two strikers have underwhelmed but lets not pretend there wasn't excitement about them when they joined. More so for Balogun but the strikers needed to be changed when he came in. It hasn't worked and we try again in the summer.

People mentioning Warnock - give Wilder the same amount of time. In terms of signings, let him sign 24 players in a year perhaps.
There was excitement but they don’t seem to have fully lived up to the hype.
I think we are all a bit cheesed off. Just seem to have fizzled out without much of a fight

There's no question that the Wilder appointment has been good for the club. It's just too bad that we've gone off the rails at the most vital time.

Come on now Warnock had massive injury problems like being without fry, dyksteel with medium term injuries both massive losses the team results were always going to improve with those players back

McGree looks like he has something about him to me, he just happens to only really be getting game time in a period where the whole team is not performing.

We're struggling all over the pitch.

We have a limited budget - we all hoped the Jan window would improve us, but Jan was mainly about trying to improve the squad by swapping players - OK so far we have not improved.

McGree looks a good signing - the problem has been his injuries so he has started only 2? games

Connolly and Balogun have not hit the goals target they should have done and should been scoring many more than say Ikpeazu and Hernandez who left for them.

At the beginning of the season we were expected to be close to the play offs and we are. What has happened is our hopes were raised by a good run in December and defeating Man United and Spurs.

Balogun has been decent, 3 goals in 4 games before he was dropped prior to the Fulham game.

The others I agree.
1 good goal, 1 tap in and 1 defensive gift.

He probably is our best striker and I'd have started him but being our best is still a very low bar.

Balogun looked lost to start with but, backed by Wilder sticking with him, played himself into form got into scoring positions & began to tuck them away. Looks like he could be a player in the future but not someone you want to hang your hat on to score consistently in the run in to secure the top six finish.

I look at it another way....... all the rubbish that was already here is/was playing far better than when he arrived. Genuinely shocked at the turning of heads because we've lost a game. We never had a bloody chance of hoping with Warnockasaurus in charge! Give him time to do his thing and enjoy the ride!

I'm not sure the suggestion that Uche and Hernandez scored more frequently than them is fair?

I think it's a fair comment.
He's not saying they scored more frequently, he's saying that Connolly and Balogun should be scoring more than both managed.

We'll have expected Connolly and Balogun to manage more than 5 goals between them in nearly half a season.

3 of those goals were incredibly fortunate too.

Ikpeazu and Hernandez only managed 3 between them, so they didn't score enough for us either, but Ikpeazu cost less as a permanent signing than Balogun did on loan.

At Sheffield United he signed trash in Brewster and Berge that ultimately got them relagated. Spent combined 50 million on them

Berge has been one of their best players this season.

You can blame Sheffield United as much as Wilder for spending £24m on Brewster after he'd played less than half a season of senior football.

i was sad to see big Uche let go. Wilder had clearly made his mind up very quickly that he didnt fit his system. It feels worse now because it is clear that we traded down on what we had.
But, if we're honest, we are nowhere near good enough, at the moment. We can judge Wilder next season. I hope we keep going for good championship players, rather than unproven premier squad players looking for a bit of experience. Crooks is a great signing. More of those, please.

Ah, my bad, misread the comment. None of them have been good enough have they.
