All Wilders January Signings have proven to be rubbish

We might still finish 6th.
Sheff Utd will beat Cardiff at home, but go to QPR and then host Fulham. I think they might struggle.

Blackburn are dropping, Millwall go to Bournemouth on the last day.

It still is in our own hands.
I'm not saying we will make 6th, but we might.

The Jan window was poor, that much is very clear, but it was a clear show of support by Gibson.
Our budget will be top ten I am sure and the transfer spend was significant for this league (Payero, McGree, Crooks, Ikpeazu is over £10m) The loans are significant too.
We needed to add a lot to a flimsy squad - Gibson did well given FFP and Covid.

Wilder did get more out of most players who were here and performances did improve significantly, together with results.
We've just run out of steam and Wilder has been a bit inflexible.

I can't help but think a few people are going massively overboard here.
We can still do it, none of the competitors for 6th are any good.

There were a lot of fools then.

I just realised you are that lad who only posts after a defeat, or during games to say how dire it is. Try some repeats if Only Fools or watch Sunderland struggling, maybe you already do.
I post plenty of times including after wins none of which is relevant to my original statement how can unproven players be world-beaters in the best ever window. Instead of having a pop at me try asking yourself why we keep loaning duds from premier League clubs

I disagree completely. McGree is a very, very good signing and will be vital next season. I can see why Connolly and Balogun were signed as they fit the way we play. Both are good at the pressing game and positioning wise are really good.

The problem is that they continued to play despite poor performances and failing to score goals. But then again, neither of the other strikers have been prolific either. I'd have preferred Uche to stay though, he at least offered a different, more physical option that we were calling out for in some of our recent games.
positioning really good? balogun is always wide because he isnt a striker in reality and connolly is basically never in a position to get on the end of things or is offside or to late arriving when he does make a decent run. wilder needs to be more adaptive to the staff he has. he just shoehorns playing into his formation. rather than play a formation or tactic to suit what he has. i'm going off him personnally. i have not been to pleased since the window in jan. shipping out uche for lightweight kids. it made ustotallt one dimensional unable to mix it up.

Am I the only one who thinks Flo has been alright? He was unlucky to be dropped just as we hitting form. There’s a player in there.

Connolly just needs binning.

The constant chopping and changing of the front two cant be helping, decide who the best pairing is and give them a run of games.

Should never have been dropped for Fulham, he had scored in 4 out of 5 games IIRC for both club and country.

And then got subbed ahead of Connolly against Hull. Strange decisions.

I doubt we spent £10m in the Summer and Jan

Payero $5m was quoted and that's with stage payments (£3.75m)
Crooks £1.25m
McCree £2m
Ikpeazu £1m

£8m max.

Saville, Wing and Spence (two loan fees), Stepanovic I believe all raised some revenue.

Christ even if it is "only" £8m, I'm not clear who else spent that this season.

Transfermarkt.com shows Payero £6.1m, McGree £3.3m, Crooks £1.2m, Ikpeazu £0.8m.
It also shows Saville as £1.6m received.
Nett £9.8m if you want to look at it very simplistically.
However it is the amortisation that hits the P&L and impacts FFP.
The £10.4m seemingly committed, amortised across their contracts is annually less than Assombolonga alone was hitting us the previous year.
The £1.6m Saville "fee" would virtually offset the last year of Saville's amortised original fee and therefore leave P&L pretty neutral.

The point is that Gibson backed his managers, despite pitiful revenue AND stayed FFP compliant.

I'd like to know where Transfer Market got £6.1m from for Payero? even the £3.2m for McGree looks on the high side - there are no media reports I can find to back the TM figures up and it seems completely inconsistent with the state of MFC's finances in late 2021 and other recent purchases.

We also have also recently sold Browne for a fee back to Oxford to raise some cash and Sam Morsy to Ipswich (reported sold for a small profit in SM's case).

I agree Warnock and Wilder have been backed to make a serious challenge for a top 6 slot, but well below clubs with parachute payments.

Come on now. Warnock had 22 points after 17 games and got sacked. We're now on 63 points after 42 games.

That's 1.3 points per game for Warnock and 1.64 points per game for Wilder.

We've been poor for the last month and just slipped down to 9th but Wilder is doing a far better job on both stats, which don't lie, and playing with an identity. I know we're all raging after that game, but perspective.
Yes agree there jonny, im a massive NW fan, gutted he left & the way it happened, but CW has done fantastically well since coming in
