I also think its worth bearing in mind, even in January people were suggesting we should go back for Randolph. I think we can all agree he's by far the best keeper we've had for many years however he was pretty bad with the ball at his feet and would be making a lot more mistakes than Lumley if he was asked to play the way he is asked to play.
I'd go as far as to say as bad as people think Lumley is and he has made a few rushed clearances and given the ball away, I think he's probably the best keeper we've had at the sweeper role and being a footballer in the time i've watched the Boro going back to the late nineties. Valdes of course being the exception, but during his time with us, he couldn't be bothered anyway.
