All those Lumley bedwetters…

I don't know if he's saved more points than lost yet tbh.

However, if he continues to perform as he has in these last two games then that ultimately will not be a problem which I couldn't have envisaged easily not so long back.

Posters on here were a tad hasty in judging him and I include myself in that number.

What games did he save us? Yes some decent saves today and against Spurs but nothing you wouldnt expect him to make. Its still a huge concern how many mistakes he has made this season, that doesnt go away with two decent performances

I think he makes good saves quite often..

Most of the abuse he gets isn’t because he’s had a bad game but because someone else has made a mistake first and put him in a position that he can’t save from…

Anyway, I like him… keeps the game exciting…

Carp, the save at his feet was outstanding.

The blokes who thought he was rubbish are the same people shouting for Gibson's head this time last year

I have to admit. Joe Lumley is the MOST EXCITING player on the pitch at the moment, which is unusual for a goalie. The Middlesbrough Rene Higuata? Needs to grow his hair though!(n)(y):(:);)

Don’t understand why everyone criticising him needs to admit they were wrong?

He’s had a couple of really good games. I’m pleased for him. Hope he keeps it up. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t cost us points earlier this season. Remember QPR? Barnsley?

If he has a couple of bad games are you going to admit you were wrong?

Whatever division we play in next season we need a new keeper.

Bang on, but this narrative doesn't allow anyone to toldjaso, as per OP's use of bedwetter terminology. No mention of where we would be had any previous saves been made

Before you start trying to claim the moral high ground (which you haven’t managed btw) you perhaps need to listen to Chris Wilder then. He yesterday admitted they have questioned him in house, even his own teammates. He has had consecutive good performances for just about the first time, lets see how he does for the next 12 as the pressure ratchets up.

Like any goalkeeper / footballer - he will make mistakes.
There are patterns in his play which are risky - like coming out of his goal area, attempting to tackle opposing players. He doesnt need to make those high risk decisions. He does it maybe a little too often?
Sometimes he gives some of us high blood-pressure (!) - but there`s nothing wrong in any of us saying so or pointing that out.
We cant expect our goal-keepers to be a Shay Given or Darren Randolph.
Those keepers are world class and cant be bought off-the-peg.
Joe Lumley is Joe Lumley.
Wilder`s Team will coach Joe and like our outfield players, will hopefully learn and change their approach on the pitch.

* This term "bedwetters" - like all the latest "in-words" doesnt cut it.
We all use colloquialisms [Latin: colloquium], but terms such as that imply that the user has knowledge and superiority to those to whom they attribute the label. Hence "bedwetter" is a derogatory term - used to ridicule and demean anyone else`s opinions.
It says more about the user [not you particularly, xxxlshirts_fit_all] that they either cant or dont want - to present and justify their opinion in a rational, considered way.

English is a complex language - so why not make best use of it?

Btw [by-the-way]: Joe made two crucial saves inside the box yesterday. (y)

and against Spurs >>>>>>>>>

@Free the Lumley one!

I think he was excellent yesterday, and bar a shaky first 15 minutes he was excellent against Spurs.

But he's still cost us more points than he's earned right now.

Nobody would be happier then me if it clicked for him and he became a good goalkeeper for us, but it's going to take more than one league match to wipe away the memory of the many errors.

Must be pleased you were wrong about him…

All keepers have their moments but he’s clearly saved more points and helped win more games than lost now…
Eh? No one didn’t say he wasn’t capable of making a save or having a good game, but over the course of the season he will cost points
