We went for Bangura first I think didn't we? Yes it is strange particularly as we gave Coulson a new contract but then didn't sell him or loan him out 🤔

Coulson was fine in the few games he started before we signed either, and the club made the deliberate decision to give him another contract in the summer.

I wouldn't have given him a new contract to begin with, I've never rated him, but it's just odd to then sign 2 left backs after offering him it.

It's THE MODEL. You buy enough of these punts from obscure places in the hope that one comes off and you sell him to Chelsea for half a billion pounds.

Yep i thought it was odd, but then i think it was offered before we brought anyone in, perhaps just covering as a precaution. I'd expect to see him leave in january, probably on loan.

Not signing a decent LB for this league was even more bizarre. Quantity over quality doesnt work

I'd be thinking of starting him behind Engel .. ( with coburn mcgree hackney forss out )
Just to give the left half of the pitch a rest when it won't stick to the front four ..
It's a dogs job playing back there at the moment.

If we haven't got athleticism , in the middle of the park , ( and with howson and barlaser we haven't.. )
We need off the ball discipline from the 3 behind the 1 .. Rodgers , and Silvera struggle with this , greenwood looks frustrated doing it

Very strange for him to be " linked " with another team only about 3 months after signing for us.

Seems an ok squad player and someone who is more than capable, nothing special. But to see him linked with a move already is bizarre.

we’re not exactly seeing it because of the many injuries we have!

Dieng/Glover/Jones

Dijksteel/Smith
RVDB/Lenihan
Clarke/McNair
Engel/Bangura

Howson/Hackney
Barlaser/O’Brien

Jones/Silvera
Crooks/Rogers
Greenwood/McGree

Latte Lath/Coburn

Coulson is too good to leave on a free.. plus he can play a number of positions.

Previous season we would have let him leave on a free and then be left wanting.

He may well move on to pastures new in January?
 
Coulson really isn’t too good to leave on a free. I don’t see anyone stumping up to take him off us. I don’t see too many wanting him for free, come to think of it.
 
I can see why some of our fan base likes Engel because he perceives to be good going forward the reality is though he cant defend. Too quick to hit the ball back first time often direct ro opposition players.

Which means if Bangura hasnt done enough in training to get ahead of Engel then I fear we still dont have a decent lb in the club.

We still dont have a decent RB after the injury to Smith

Fry is weak, and Mcnair not the answer.

And those reasons my friends is why we are 12th in the league. Goals against column.

Over to the recruitment team to build a solid defence around Rvdb

And then play your CM new signing O'Brien at LB instead of all 3.
Recruitment and selection issues there.
