Yes he was probably better there as he wasn’t really big enough to play CH in the early/mid 90sAgree 100% about Morris. Always thought Whyte was decent, especially at Left Back in our first promotion season under Robbo.
Degsy was poor just like McNair isHave fond memories of Degsy. Chris Morris on the other hand…
I think bangers was the one we really really wanted, didn’t think we would get him so got outlet plan b in Engels. Now we have both, we may chop and change for a bit, we may play bangers further forwardHas Engels ever played as a CB? I read he'd played up top as a young player.
Just seems odd we've signed two left backs in such quick succession, we obviously needed two, but I was expecting a nailed on starter and a back up.
Although different players you could argue both have a shout of being first choice? Engels better crossing and a bit more solid maybe, Bangura more pacy and direct loves a lunging tackle.
Nice problem to have if they push each other.
Horses for courses and gives us different options against different opposition. Something MC has already alluded to. Predictability probably cost us to an extent at the end of last season.Has Engels ever played as a CB? I read he'd played up top as a young player.
