One thing we need to do is.. CONCEED A LOT LESS GOALS

Sheffield United were promoted automatically after scoring less goals that us as did Luton Town. Coventry scored less than us and made the playoff final.

The signings we’ve made look a lot more technical than the players we’ve let go..

ball retention, pass completion.. get them up and up go our points.. right?”

To counter this, how many did Smith, Dijksteel, Fry, Lenihan, McNair, Bola, Giles, Hackney, Howson and Barlaser score between them?

We've lost Archer, Watmore and Ramsey and questions remain over Chuba.

So are Silvera, Gilbert, Rogers going to bag 5-6 each - hope they do. And also hope we sign a couple of players to replace Archer.........and Chuba? 😬😬

But having the defence / MF chip in with 10-12 goals will not be a bad thing.

Yep, I think we're not going to have as good a season like last year (just a gut feeling, not based on much else at the moment). We'll still finish above the mackems though. ;)
 
Theres no way we will have as good a season this year without Chuba. He was fundamental to our shape. It seems as though we are going to continue that way so some serious investment or tweaks in our system will be needed. It isn’t all doom and gloom as in the championship anyone can beat anyone. We just aren’t going to score as much as last season.
 
Team started to suss us out at the end of last season and we didn’t have a plan B. Anyone expecting anything similar to last season is in for a shock, unless we make some significant playing additions in the next 4 weeks.

I think we need to face up to the reality that Chuba and Archer did not score in 180 minutes of big match play off v Coventry, in fact Chuba missed two very good chances first leg.

I’m not blaming them but they did not get us over the line at the business end.

By the sounds of it the new Director of Football, very well respected and in post for a month, has fallen out with everyone.

He wants to go down a different recruitment path (assume similar to Brentford/Brighton) whereas Moyes wants proven experience.

Haven't signed one player, sounds a bit of a mess off the pitch.......👍

Of all the potential destinations I see Sheff Utd as unlikley, given their financial situation and if the rumours the the package on offer to Akpom are true, then its got zero chance of getting off the ground.
