Nobody is suggesting that bud.

The suggestion is to leave the site as it is and then for those who don't want to have ads, to be able to make an annual payment to remove them.

I was just trying to point out that it is possible to keep a forum completely free of ads for everyone if you have a voluntary scheme like that. It works on that site.

People have been banned without breaching the terms of service I am sure. For example, Borolad booted a couple of decent posters on a thread about the Ukraine war. I guess a paid subscription would enforce the admins to prove bannings are justified.

Terms of service can say whatever you want. Subscribing is a donation that grants you no rights etc

You seemed clued up on this type of stuff but do you have any cons under rights rules/laws to give substance to the claim? It’s just a bit of a shock if true (the subscription/donation part). Obviously TOS can contain anything as they should be read before being agreed upon.

I mean I look at the gazette website or the daily mail and it pretty much freezes my phone. On here no problems. If I get an ad I just backwards click and then click on the link again. I'm happy to have the bloke earn some money from it.

To be fair if you're looking at the Daily Mail your phone is doing you a favour by freezing.

I don't really have a problem with the Ads no worse than 99.9% of apps on Google play. I think some Ads are focused Ads as I am getting Ads for used car websites which I occasionally visit to look as cars I can't afford, but also had Ads for womens beach wear which just wouldn't suit me(with me being a fat bloke)and Shark hoovers which are not top of my search history.
