Adi Dem where are you?

I've known Adi for nearly 35yrs now. Grew up round the corner from me and spent loads of time together when we were younger. Still see him from time to time. What I will say he is that he is a top bloke and nothing like the arrogant character that some have painted him as. Am sure he'd have a good laugh to himself knowing there's a thread about him. Guess it shows that people appreciated his contributions whether they agreed or didn't.

As for the Jonjo nonsense,. I know that over the years he has definitely had a few contacts at the club. I remember him telling me about JFH and Viduka well before it was confirmed. Sometimes just because your given some info it doesn't always mean that it will transpire. A lot can happen to stop a deal going through. But guess people just liked using it as a stick to beat him with and wind him up!

Anyway, shame he isn't still on here but next time I see him I'll let him know you were all asking after him ;)

It got to the point with Adi where anything he posted was simply ridiculed, pulled apart and as stated it was like playground bully behaviour.

He did have connections in the club somewhere, and did call a few transfers well before they broke in the media. Shelvey - we don't know; duff info, change of mind by player/club. But all he was doing was passing on info he had been told was good. Damned if he did, damned if he didn't.

The end I think he was to the point of getting his retaliation in first, saved him the bother later on in any post/comment he made.

I always found him a good poster, didn't agree with him all of the time, but that's life.

Always thought Adi was a good poster and I always looked out for his thread/comments as I often found he spoke a lot of sense about things.

He definitely received a lot of abuse on here at times, much much more than he should have.

The forum is definitely worse for not having him.

Once told me there were only two opinions - his and the wrong one. Very arrogant man who let his arrogance overtake his contribution - I don’t think we have anything like the chew on here now he and others brought over the last few years.

Not entirely true. I hadn’t done the jonjo Shelvey and one other gag but he became very abusive to me. There was no need to ‘retaliate first’ we’d crossed swords many times without any abuseFrom me. If it’s banter with a mate, or there is a sense of humour in it, that’s fine, but he was just lashing aggressively because he didn’t agree with my take.

He simply became frustrated because I wouldn’t bend to his will over a particular 6 month period and lashed out in frustration. I think the catalyst was that he had stated repeatedly that gibson had nothing to sue Derby for and was acting rediculous in doing so. He was very vocal and very absolute on this. Absolutism is a way of backing yourself into a corner eventually.

We all have different views and should be adult enough to express and discuss them without resorting to that kind of behaviour.

We all have good days and bad days where we let ourselves down, a man will without hesitation or excuse apologise when he calms down, not double down on calling people a d/ckhead purely for their views on a footballer.

Anyway, he’s a Boro fan, so good luck to him whatever he is doing.

I found him incredibly difficult to debate with on occasions where our opinion varied, but I recognise he contributed a lot to the board too, I just eventually decided he was not worth the chew and i think he was my first poster I put on ignore. Despite what anth25 said, his writing style with anyone he disagreed with did come across arrogantly and caused more ructions than he would admit to realising, he had a knack of belittling opinion like no other poster, definitely an educated wordsmith, but he spoke sense, more often than not tbf, something which he once accused me of lacking (Wibble).

No problem were he to return, it is an eclectic board and hope he is fit and well.

If he had become abusive, that was out of order. Never came across as that type of poster, but we all have our breaking points.

I don't get involved in any type of message board personal spat - or escalated disagreement - so can't remember what the he said / she said semantics were.

Only thing I do recall is he was getting "abuse" from a number of posters on a continual basis. He may not have helped himself with his replies, I'll take your word for it, but I think he had indeed passed the breaking point and was a good idea to step away for his own sanity.

Can't remember the Derby thing at all, thought it was unanimous on here that they should be punished. Shocking memory, that's old age for you.🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Was it Adi that claimed to have watched a match that he wasn't at because he had seen it streamed somewhere and when everyone pointed out that it hadn't been streamed anywhere in the world instead of admitting he had made it up he doubled down and insisted he had a private stream through his connections? It might have been someone else but I think it was him.

Adi spoke well, often with a lot of sense, but had a complete inability to ever admit a mistake or that someone else was right. Sometimes that was correct because other people were wrong but others, in subjective matters, it was his way or no way and there was no room for anyone else's opinion. He's not the only one like that though and I think it is a byproduct of debating via a forum rather than in person. Winning arguments is more important to some people than being right.

I particularly liked the 8 dart finish thread. When people tried to explain that 9 darts was the fewest amount of darts you could finish with, he’d reply that with modern equipment, diet plans, and training methods it would only be a matter of time before the 9 dart finish is beaten.

When posters tried again to explain why it couldn’t be beaten, he’d reply that they said the same thing about the 4-minute mile and the 10-second 100 metres sprint. 😂😂

That was Sossage.

I don't think even Flar wouldn't have the brass neck to claim credit for that magnificence.

Interesting...

Adi was a good poster and someone who made many valuable contributions. Of course there was many arguments at times, but usually quite interesting to read and see people equally able to argue their point.

It’s stuff like this that has made FMTTM a really great place over the years.

Agree. Generally had decent opinions but got very 'sensitive' when people disagreed with him. That is 'social media' for you, but however difficult you have to try and not take things personally. Obviously easier said than done!

I've just read that Connolly thread and the derby one thats got a link in there. Have to say I can't see any abuse or owt like that towards boromart or anyone else. He was definitley on the end of some in those threads though. Looks like he was right about that daft lad Conolly and the derby one looks fineto me as well. Seems a vbiut of a ***** trick to come on here and start talking about someone having mental troubles when there not here and when the threads don't have anything bad in them anyway.
