Aaaarrggghh Tony Mowbray......

i absolutely love mowbray having said that ive been annoyed with some of his post match comments when he was blackburn manager against us, i think he has been far from magnanimous. I expect him to show the same attitude on Monday and it will annoy me even more. Theres only one thing for it we must beat the mackems convincingly.

It’s not as if he needs the money. Would love to hear Erimus’s thoughts ? 😢
He might need the money, obviously not as much as most people do right now but it's all relative.

Makes sense for him as it's just down the road and he'll get home at a reasonable time most nights.

I don't see this one working out well as the initial fan reaction seems incredibly negative, combined with what looks on paper a pretty poor squad and the fact that most S'land fans seem to expect a playoff place then Mowbray might not last the season.

He’s another one like Warnock etc said he wanted to spend more time with his family then can’t resist the pull of one more job even the Mackems. 😞

I hope he does well, gets them promoted - they are just another team - but promoted behind us & we dyck them home & away with Emerson style 30 yarders.. always my go to memory of beating them.. not White fannying around by the corner, losing the ball, them equalising & those points lost costing us relegation...

I want to see all NE teams high up in the PL... & Newsandcastle Arabia just missing out on Europe again... I just support the Boro.. the two up the road are just office banter.

Mogga, still & always a legend.. for back in the day, a decent bloke though just doing a job....

Just watched the local news regarding Mogga becoming the new Sunderland manager, I missed a family wedding on monday which Moggga attended, I would have hoped I would have been sat on his table, unfortunately I couldnt make it

A few years back my late brother had been in hospital & on his return home he got a call off Mogga, a group of em knocked about together, when going to nightclubs in the early 80's, as Boro manager he told my brother, while hes at the Riverside he can have tickets for every home & away games, my brother declined the home tickets, he didnt want to take anything out of the club & preferred to pay for his home tickets, every away game a ticket was left for my brother & at times me, when we went away together, showed the calibre of the man

Up there with the top legends for the mighty Boro, my love for Mogga is far bigger than my dislike for Sunderland a man I respect greatly, he's a man of honesty, integrity & morals, I dont think theres many in the game who have those qualities, best of luck Mogga

Exactly, reading some pretty embarrassing stuff from some of our fans, short memories
Not a short memory at all.
I loved Mowbray the player and captain.
Not too keen on Mowbray the manager. Even less so now.
I'm sure there are loads of honest players and managers with morals and integrity. I don't have to want them all to do well. Especially not at the expense of us.

Don’t think any of us are exactly wanting him to do well but seen some awful stuff said about him on social media today. Whatever anyones feelings are about him joining Sunderland he has had a hugely positive impact on our history and should always be respected for that

I imagine any supporter under the age of 30 will struggle with that special Mowbray connection.
