6 music glastonbury

Probably, my point was every show for three days has just played live glastonbury sets all day and night.
I don't mind a few thrown in but everything?

Completely agree. I have Glastonbury fatigue already and it hasn't even started in earnest yet. Reminds me of why I both love and hate Glastonbury. I love the extensive coverage but the fawning nature of the presenters in nauseating. Not every performance is incredible, not every performer is iconic.

I've just turned on the iPlayer channel to find The Pretenders playing "Back In The Chain Gang" with Chrissie Hyde wearing a Motorhead T-shirt. If the rest of the footage provokes more such smiles in me I'll enjoy it.

I was watching that last week hind was great and i thought my god she looks really good for her age but then i saw at the end it was from 2017. .

Talking of repeats what on earth is point of googlebox repeats from years ago like 2015 shown on e4 every bloody night

The 6Music coverage is doing my head in. It has been overkill this week imho.

I think live gig footage is great on TV, but on radio ... not so much.

Also, 6Music (to my ears) has recently drifted towards increased inclusion of interviews and generally more talky-talky from the presenters. This is a bad thing.

Don't get me started on dual presenters.

The iPlayer channel was just showing old footage then put Hozier on so I immediately changed channels and put the Pyramid Stage on. Within 10 minutes I was a huge fan of Maisie Peters who I'd never heard of before and she accompanied me cooking lunch. Now I'll always have a taste of pasta and tuna whenever I hear her.

I remember having a tape of from Channel 4 when they covered Glastonbury and it was a lot better

Me too, used to watch it to get me in the mood for a summer of festivals. That and Gary Crowley's The Beat which used to have performances from Phoenix and Reading festivals.

The BBC coverage probably coincided with the point at which festivals came out of the "counter culture" and became a summer event for Management Consultants from the Home Counties and Strongbow Fruits lads from Newcastle.
