50 percent of tomorrow’s squad will be under 23s

I still think it could be competitive although depending on who's not traveled.

The likes of Archer / Bryn/ Coulson / spence / Wood / Wing / Roberts have hardly had a kick and decent enough if availible.

We can't do a lot at CB or CF as thin on the ground as it is. So it will be Fry or Mcnair with Wood and Akpom or Britt up top. It's not like Browne or Watmore have had much game time.

I think the bench will be interesting but the starting 11 shouldn't be 'weak'. I don't mind watching a few younger players coming in. I am pretty confident Brentford will make a raft of changes after tuesday night.

Brentford may not pick a full first-team 11 either. They have other priorities and need rest after mid-week

If he’s not one with Covid I can Definetly see Folarin starting. Haven’t been impressed in the very little I have seen of him but tomorrow’s game will be a better time to make a fairer assessment. He certainly has the physique and pace.
Sounds familiar.

Yes the bits I've seen of him he lookdd out of sorts
What in the whole 21 minutes he got against Barnsley and the whole 24 minutes he got against Norwich would he have to have done to impress you !

I only saw the Norwich cameo and thought he looked promising

Mate of mine from London, Spurs fan who used to follow Sheffield Utd when he was at Uni there told me that Warnock would be ace for us. Really rates him. But said he isn’t interested in the cups. I now covid is a factor but I feel his approach wouldn’t be much different.

Well that's OK then 👍

As I said, not knocking the lad at all but if you seen enough in 21 minutes to think he looked promising then in the very same time I didn't see anything in him to think that

Totally agree. I think he will probably turn out half decent but we can go on what we see! Hope he plays tomorrow so can give him a proper judgement. If he’s good I’m sure me and you will be the first to say so!

I think some people tend to react differently TBH

Hopefully we're all raving about his performances come the end of the game, if NW thinks he's good enough then who am I to argue against

I fancy us to win tomorrow....Burrell with the winner and Bryn to be outstanding. Who plays centre half alongside Wood for U23s? I cant see anyone starting who would start against Birmingham, so only first teamers Wood, Wing, Roberts, Coulson and Spence. Captain Britt might get a run out unless he's got COVID-19.

Warnock absolutely loves the FA Cup - he talks it up all the time, perhaps your mate at Sheff U may not be old enough to remember the year he took Sheff U to semi finals in the league cup and FA Cup, only to lose them both. But he really loves the FA Cup talking about it as the best cup competition in the world.

Weren't they a bit unlucky to lose to Arsenal, great save by Seaman from Mr Karen Brady (Peschisolido) iirc?

I'm pointing out that in the 20 minute cameo I saw, against the best team in the division, I thought he was comfortable on the ball, not afraid to take people on, had some pace, and got himself involved - not that he was the next coming of Juninho or Traore

I'm just trying to understand how on the basis of that 20 minutes you can say they weren't impressed with him (what were you expecting him to do !) or how exactly he looked "out of sorts"

Edit - and yes, it is about opinions

Calm down fella, think you need to a lie down

I merely said I didn't see anything in those 20 odd minutes on both games, not knocking the lad at all, if you did then great that's fine, no need to get worked up over someone who sees something different to you

Good job I didn't say he was useless you'd have blown a fuss, what in 20 minutes

Enjoy the rest of your day

2 debuts there newyddion
50 percent of tomorrow’s squad will be under 23s 11+9=20 so
10 of tomorrows squad will be U23s and 10 from the first team squad

10 of the first team squad to start with one player for the U23s
then all 9 subs being from the U23s

Archer & Hackney first team debut's. I think Archer is a decent shout straight in there.. soon learn the lads names! I've went for Hayden Hackney to start from the U23s scored on his debut for the U21s a few years ago (against Burton in the Checkatrade Trophy) I've heard good things and it sounds like he's been on the verge of making the bench a few times recently.

"Former Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate rated the 18-year-old highly and called Hackney up to the first-team squad for a Championship game against Barnsley last season.
“Hayden Hackney deserves to be there because he's been outstanding for the Under-23s,” Woodgate told the press in November 2019.

Neil Warnock has also been impressed by the teenager. “Hayden Hackney, he looks like he knows what he’s doing,” said the Boro boss during his interview with the Twe12thMan podcast.
Hackney often operates in a deep-lying midfield role due to his qualities on the ball, while he also has the energy to contribute at both ends of the pitch.
We’ve also seen the quality Hackney can produce from dead-ball situations, after his stunning free-kick against Wolves was nominated for Boro’s November goal of the month award"

It's anyone's guess really.. we'll just have to see who the gaffa plucks for on the big day!

Fry has had Covid so I expect him to play.

We were going to play a lot of the young lads anyway.

I would give Howson and Fletcher some game time if they are very close to fit. Fletcher especially needs some real game time.

Brentford will be weakened too after playing Spurs in mid week.
