There's at least one team in each group that haven't had a league to play in for at least one of the last few seasons. With all due respect to the teams in England's group, its a real waste of time them being on the same pitch as England, other than Northern Ireland, who still aren't close to the same level.Embarrassing the opposition seems a thing in Womens international football. Republic of Ireland only scored 11 this evening.
It's good to see the team being so professional in these games, though. But it's a good job that they've got a 4 nations tournament with Germany, Spain and one other (hopefully USA) coming up before the Euros because England haven't played against any decent sides for over half a year and their record after the World Cup against teams in and around their level is really poor.
I've got tickets to the last few stages of the touenament next year, so I'm hoping this coach has what it takes to get them over the final hurdle to winning a trophy. But it's impossible to tell with these kind of games.
