3rd Test India v England

The umpire is only supposed to give them out if he is 100% certain it is out
These guys are just giving everything out and so on review all decisions are going against England.

How often do umpires overturn their decisions when everything he sees from the reviews supports it? Seems very rare.

The thing is we are getting out to balls that are doing very little, its not wizardry its poor judgement most of the time

Missing straight ones stood in front of your stumps just looks out, our batting against spin is the problem not the umpires.

Get to the pitch and LBW becomes harder for the umpires to give. We've not learned from Sharma's innings against our spin.

The batting has been woeful but to me there was enough doubt in some of those decisions to be given not out. Then India would review and decision would go England’s way on umpires call.

Umpires call in the review system is to cover the margin of error in the ball tracking technology. I.E to cover doubt, if you have umpires not making a call as they see it on field and relying on technology you end up with doubt covering doubt and the equivalent of having 5 stumps.

If the umpire gives it out and the technology says it could have hit the stumps then there's no reason to state the umpire was not 100% certain on their decisions.

It is much easier for India if every call is given out and they don’t need to review to get the decision.
Whereas if England then review decision it goes against them.
I am not saying the umpires are wrong I am just saying to me there was enough doubt in 3 or 4 of those decisions to have been given not out originally and made India review. Then England would have got the benefit of umpires call.

The assumption there is that the umpires were not 100% in thinking its out. Replays might show that its close but in the fraction if a second the umpire has to make the call its not.

The issue for me is the third umpire, he's been awful. He's rushed through reviews and been very one sided in his decisions.

He’s only had one decision to make
Agreed he may have got that wrong but very difficult to overturn if soft signal is out and replays aren’t great.
