My thinking was if we kept NML, Kebano and bolasie + watmore - i think we'd be fine in the wide departments. Tav can play up there when needed and we have Johnson too.

Then add 2 central strikers.

My thoughts exactly mate, he doesn't do much, is neat and tidy, a model pro and do a job wherever he's asked to, but he isn't 'good' at anything if that makes sense.
 
Who's going to pay say 2million for Saville or akpom? Clubs have no income until crowds are back properly. We are stuck with players under contract I think until they leave for peanuts or frees

I think Tav will be playing midfield next season (hopefully for us)

I have a feeling that Wing, Spence & Coulson will be off to pastures new.

It's not over the top in my opinion, we have a good core of players from which to build on.

Free transfers. loan players and a few gems from abroad.. I think we'll have a good go at it next season.
 
Saville's not as good as Tav as an attacking midfielder and not as good as Morsy or McNair as a defensive or box to box midfielder. Having a £6m signing as back up simply doesn't work for us or him and hampers the development of our younger players. Spence thinks he's better than he is, based on reported interest from EPL, he may go on to prove us all wrong. Akpom, I thought worked hard early season with little reward, he's been very disappointing since Christmas, I get the impression as with Spence, he's a bit of a big time Charlie. All should be allowed to leave. Our priorities this summer have to be a centre forward and a goalkeeper!

I think the money will be there in one form or another, just with the players out of contract leaving. Obviously we have to keep tightening out belt which is not ideal. But there are players out there.

Spence - rubbish footballer miles away from championship level, but, a highlights reel and some kind words from Mourinho on his CV could get us 1.5mill

Saville - 1 year left on his contract and the only reason he is in the side is because of injuries to Tav and Morsy

McNair - Warnock pefers to play 433 but, McNair can't play in a back 4 and doesn't do so well in a midfield role . He's a frustrating player because he has 80% of the attributes to play CB or CM, but the 20% missing make him vulnerable. Regardless, we could still earn 5mill if we sold him

We barely score or create, we need a clean slate, I'd get rid of all the wide forwards/wingers/support strikers or whatever we're calling them except Watmore.

Johnson, Spence, Coulson, NML, Bolasie and Kebano haven't really done anything to justify being given starting roles to fire us up the table in my opinion.

We have been utterly dreadful as an attacking force since relegation. It's time for a clean slate.

Warnock's awful tactics don't help, but if that is what we're doing with the 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 formation he prefers we need two new main strikers, a starter and cover and probably four wide players. Also another centre half, a competent keeper and a covering LB.

Howson, Saville and Morsy barely offer anything in a concerted attacking sense either.

I'd also add our performance from set pieces has been pretty woeful for years too. Hopefully one of the new signings is a set piece specialist and a new centre half or striker is a beast in the air so we can start causing the opposition some more problems.
 
Leadbitter is probably the last midfielder we signed that actually improved the squad. We have signed too many steady away midfielders that rarely stand out. And as for Strikers someone in recruitment should be made to pay. Akpomb has been the worst of a really bad bunch. Then theres the keeper situation. Ok i guess the club is a mess. :(

It's like this every transfer window.....we need five or six new players. Good job we have such a good track record getting value for money when buying players😁
 
I really hope the three are Saville, Akpom and Spence.
If we could get £2m for Saville it would cover book value and prevent any amortisation hit to next season's P&L. We could get a better player for his wage (plus a £2m hit). Get the plodder moved.

We'd need to get close to the same for Akpom to cover book value without a hit. I can't see us getting that for him from anyone, it will cost money to get rid of him, but he's useless and I hope we do.

Spence is all profit whatever fee we get and I think there's probably enough to cover a shortfall in an Akpom fee.

That would be 3 complete wastes of space moved at no cost and wage bill freed to recruit better and sign players that can become assets.
