Our tickets are too expensive, which is true.

It'll be even more obvious to Sunderland fans, from the land where tickets are cheap and often free (fair play to their club on that).
As much as I dislike them, their tickets are not much cheaper than ours. The only light I can get if we beat them, at work, they will deflect their attention to the Mags obsession. Sado’s

Our cheapest category A single adult ticket is "only" £3 more expensive than theirs (£31 to £28), but our cheapest single child is £18.

Theirs is £10 for under 12s and £12 for u16s, that's a sizeable difference.

WHO in their right mind decided to change the game to a Monday night, it will be mayhem. Yes a change but at least an earlier KO on a Sunday perhaps, plenty of time to get them out of the Town quicker. Plus I am going to miss it now, cheers to the powers that be.

Their tickets are £2 cheaper @ Boro than @ Sheff United for adults. The majority going will be adults.

They just want a moan. Its not unique to Sunderland Fans :(

No doubt there's a thread on the Mackem forum with hundreds of replies claiming they don't care! A Boro game might not compare with Newcastle (I understand that) but there's no doubt it's a local rivalry. Claiming anything otherwise is factually wrong.

Games like these show the difference between internet forums, Twitter and real life. Spending time online shows loads of idiots typing idiotic comments. In real life most Sunderland fans are decent. I work with loads and all are spot on. It's almost like we're the same type of people from the same part of the world!

From a football perspective surely that is a compliment. 🤷‍♂️
Yorkshire has some decent footballing heritage whereas, I'm in my 40's and cant remember their 'north east' having any real noticable footprint or impact on english football. Ironically, a good percentage of them are'nt even from sunderland. There's loads from the durham mining villages who don't have a local team of their own so they cling on to sunderland.
Well actually that's the same for Boro. Take away fans from outside of the town of Middlesbrough and what do you have left, number wise?

Can’t wait to see the sackless spenk’s chanting and roaring before the game, only to be silenced in the first 10 minutes as our new superstar striker smashes home a Giles cross in the first 10 minutes, as we go on to spank them 3-0 and watch them leave in droves after 80+ minutes.

They know it’s coming, they’re just a town full of Poundland Geordie wannabes.

I would suggest the vast majority (nearly all) of our supporters either currently live or have lived within a 7 or 8 mile radius of The Riverside Stadium. Sunderland have a sizable following who live well outside of that kind of area. I have previously lived in 2 of the durham mining villages around 15 to 20 miles from sunderland and there were a number of arranged buses from those villages to the sol games on match days.

Interesting that the Boro fans who post on their board are slagging off this place.

I don’t know but I am not convinced by a 7-10 mile radius. Look at midweek games and a drop for night matches.

It's always because of politics that people complain about here.

You talked about fans not being from Sunderland, I talked about many of ours (probably a majority) not being from Middlesbrough.

I know all about the pit villages in Durham, for most it's still their local club.
