24 hrs in police custody. SPOILERS .

I watched last nights - interesting story - can’t help but think some of the parents were complicit - they should have sent this lad packing. He was obviously a disturbed individual looking at the amount of self harming scars on his body. I don’t believe prison will do him any good but he’s done the crime so he’ll do the time - at least 9 years!

Enjoyed tonight’s episode - some arrogance from that Dr guy! Even so I was surprised at the outcome and the extra 5 years for failing to repay proceeds of crime!!

When I was younger a mate of mine had been out with his family and the daughter boyfriend. They came home and my mate and the lad sat in the front room drinking for an hour after everyone had gone to bed. He went to draw the curtains and there was a lad sat behind the settee with 2 bags of their family electronics and jewellry etc.. He tried to run but they grabbed him and gave him a good kicking.
Police were called and they were arrested for assaulting him. Only the arrival of a sergeant stopped them being carted off and he talked the 2 constables into concentrating on the scummy burglar. My mate was never the same. Couldn't settle when he was out the house and wouldn't go out like he used to ifhis family were home without him. Even moved house in the end to see if he could settle down but to no avail.
None of this is taken into account when the scum bags are eventually caught.
I remember reading in the gazette about someone finally going to prison after his 45 offence, disgusting.

Strange one last night. It was a repeat so it is the second time I have watched it. The guy who commits fraud gets 8 years then another 5 and has basically harmed no one but tried to get money from an insurance company (who are probably very rich) and a mortgage company (again, probably very rich). So 13 years.

Contract that to the episode a couple of weeks ago - a couple of scrotes with a long history of robbing normal people. They get derisory sentences yet the impact on the victims will be far greater than that of an insurance company. We have already seen the guy who chased he lads have his life destroyed along with a pregnancy termination.

The legal system in this country is all wrong.

I hadn’t sen last nights episode before and despite the evidence I was preparing myself for him to get off or a very lite sentence - I couldn’t believe he got eight years plus another five. As you say there is just no rhyme or reason to the justice system sometimes - when you have rapists who can get less than that (4-19yrs), manslaughter (2-10yrs) and so on. What stood out for me was that whilst he had the brains to be well a brain surgeon he was incredibly stupid! Or just so arrogant he thought everybody around him was stupid. I really liked the detective and his picture leaning against the fire place!

Yeah, he was very arrogant!! I loved that photo as well :D

The one with the attempted burglary.

The homeowner really can’t get away with the actions he took. What he did isn’t reasonable and was always going to result in prison.

Your right it wasn't reasonable but even more unreasonable was the suspended sentence for the scrotes

That surgeon was so obnoxious, clearly guilty, and tried to be clever with his answers which made him look ridiculous. An example of his delusions of grandeur and off the scale arrogance was the bit where he was being checked in to be charged and he turned to his solicitor and said 'I have been addressed incorrectly, I am a Mr not a Dr' Get a life you arrogant ....!

I found myself laughing when he was found guilty and got a long sentence at the end. Enjoyable viewing.

Yes he really took things personal as if the detective who did a great job was some how the vast guy, how dare he do his job!!

My friend has a similar story. He came home from a night out (living in Edinburgh) and caught a lad climbing out of his living room window.
Pulled him back in and gave him a kicking then phoned the police.
Turned out the lad was 19 years old but vulnerable with special needs. He was being made to do it by his dad - who then abandoned him when the living room light came on.
My pal was devastated when he realised who he had beaten up and the circumstances.
He got a suspended sentence for assault, the scum bag dad also got a suspended sentence. The son got a wired jaw and a reshaped nose.
