šŸ™Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

Yeah I'd heard that, think someone posted earlier that they went to school with him. Surprised gazette don't hammer it

21.38p elec today and 5.7p has means almost half price gas and about 10p off elec, hope these tends continue!

I switched over around the 4th Feb. Asked to be switched to the tracker immediately. Had a few emails back and forth since then, today received one stating I'm on the waiting list for the tracker.
Not happy to be honest, only switched over to go on the tracker, which they advertised. I was really hoping to be on the tracker before the price rises in April.

If you can evidence you asked for it before they should honour it - screenshot your email to the Twitter account

They told my mate the same that if he could prove he had asked they would backdate it

Yes, I have evidence. They emailed me asking for meter readings, then confirmation after I had read the T&Cs.

I will reply to them with the evidence, thanks.

I got in after the cut-off as I told them I had email evidence of being accepted. I said if they didn't honour it after complaining I would speak to OFGEM

Caveat Emptor....

to anybody considering transferring to their Tracker tariff from another supplier. Being SE based so maybe region specific but moved from BG on 9th Feb (after speaking to customer services to confirm that the tracker really was available via transfer from their initial Variable tariff) . Octopus emailed with effective start date 12th Feb and asked for meter readings which I thought a bit odd as on smet2 but provided anyway and received confirmation email, also on same day I emailed to transfer to the Tracker and they quickly responded with details of switch, t&c's etc. which I accepted on 13th. They were extremely responsive throughout with a slick neat website, which I considered to be all done and dusted.

On the 17th they email advising a waiting list for the tracker tariff, but that I could register interest using a link...as somebody commented above its effectively been pulled. I feel duped as at no point did they mention waiting lists or indicate high demand as would never have bothered in the first place.

as mentioned above if you can show you asked before the 14th they will honour it if pushed. DM then on Twitter with screenshots of your emails

I'm currently on the flexible avro with octopus ( automatically moved over when avro energy went bust) could anyone advise me if I would be better switching to the tracker? I've attached photos of my tariff

Yes, it would definitely be worth it. You're just on the EPG rate at the minute.

On the tracker electricity is just over 23p and gas is around 6p at today's rate.

Thank you, can it be done online?
Yes, there is a waiting list to join it now though

Looking at the octopus Avro topics page it looks like the basically Ā£50 under the price cap so definitely some savings to be had

This page has a link to join the waitlist for tracker

The only thing I would say is that I was accepted even after the waiting list was in place so if you're already with Octopus it's worth calling them.

Keep running around trying to 'save' a few pennies and feeling smart about it while you get reamed for Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£ month in and month out. The system is working as intended :D
So you arenā€™t getting reamed? Whatā€™s your approach to the energy price increases?
