šŸ™Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

So it says estimated annual usage 4004keh elec and 15868kwh gas?
Your usage is a lot higher so this is how yours works out, this his using the more expensive tracker figures Way out west suggested

£204 on the figures you gave, £224 on price cap , £149 Octo tracker

Just signed up using your referral link @ThatFragranceGuy

Completely fed up of Eon Next's terrible customer service and the initial tariff I'll be put on is a little cheaper than my fixed deal with Eon (no exit fees thankfully).

I have SMETS1 meters but made by Secure and the signup info said that Octopus can read the Secure SMETS1 so should be good to switch to the tracker too (y)

It may have been a smets1 but chances are it's been remote upgraded to smets2 as most have by now, although a few stragglers but if they can't connect to it they'll fit their own pretty quickly

Email says my start date will be this Friday, didn't realise it was that quick!
If you've got a smart meter they can do it really quickly, was same for us. Think standard meters still take a couple of weeks

One thing to be aware of is final bill process uses a third party and it can take about 6 weeks to get a refund but its industry wide

Refund from old supplier you mean?

I'll take some screenshots of Eon Next page as they owe me £600+ credit and I don't trust them one little bit!

Yeah. So they will issue you a final bill and after that it all goes to a third party for verification. Recomended to take meter readings and screenshots just in case

You could also ring them and ask for say a £400 refund to move things along

I think I saw a message about low battery on mine, even tho it's only 2 years old. Shld I let Octopus know, or can they tell? I assume they have to sort it?
On the lcd display in the house or in the meter? I'd tweet them they should be able to check diagnostic messages remotely. They should last years really and yeah they would book a metering operative to come out and do it

I chucked the lcd display, had no need for it as I use an app. It was on the meter. I'll ask Octopus, cheers.

Still worth it imo; if you leave tracker you can't rejoin it for 9 months. You have to take the rough with the smooth.

The highest unit rates on tracker were September last year when Ukraine was kicking off, they then dropped down heavily in October. Went up a bit late Nov/early December and from about late December onwards when it was actually cold, tracker has been cheaper than price cap apart from a few days here and there, and significantly cheaper for the bulk of it.

Tracker is based on wholesale prices, which are lower than retail, but retail factors in the same things as wholesale. If prices shoot up for wholesale, the price cap will go up at the next review and stay up until those costs are recovered.

it's on IOS too, I find it better than Octo aid for a couple of things, like the visuals on upcoming rates and the phone/ watch notifications.
Does it not do gas? I like the visuals in it but can't see anywhere to get it to show the same for gas unless I am missing something
