Pretty much every manager fails eventually. Otherwise there wouldn't be any sacked. It's not a problem that is exclusive to us. A UEFA report on the top 5 leagues in Europe had the managers average tenure at something like 18 months.

At the end of the day we are in a competitive league and most of the clubs in this league could find themselves promoted with the right recruitment every summer. We can't all get promoted. So most of the league fails every year.

carrick,down to carrick ,for me has to take a lot of the blame for me we look a team of individuals,he has a striker in forrs at times he should be playing as strikerbut refuses to instead he decides crooks is a better option:rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
The signs were there last season, we just were putting away our chances, we’d have won todays game 4-2 last season

Totally.
Woodgate was undoubtedly a world class defender. And I mean world class. He is boro born and bred. Why do people like to slag him and Downing so much?
I am chuffed to bits to have him there as a local lad. There are other coaches in there, too.
Please understand that the team has been cut in half. The players that have come in, so far, just havent delivered.
It has fu.ck all to do with the coaching staff.

He is one of our worst all time managers. Should never have been in the role.

He definitely should not have been brought back after failing so miserably. How can you employ someone who was sacked for being useless at his job a few years prior. It wouldn’t happen anywhere else.

TBH I was as critical as anyone when he was our manager, as he wasn’t suited to the role. But he DID seem perfectly suited to the number 2 role last year when we were flying, not sure why a downturn in results suddenly becomes all about him.

He was in a different role. People do different jobs with variable success. FWIW, I always thought Woodgate was way more suited to an assistant role. It’s not as if he doesn’t know anything about the game.
