Cameron Archer

That's a quality strike force especially if forss keeps up he recent from. I could see forss and archer with chuba behind. I don't want too many more signings if we could get a midfielder to replace mowatt or a wide right player to keep Jones on his toes that would be great. Only one or two more in for me and the mother of all collapses from Sheffield uniturd
I agree all we need is some midfielf competition and a winger! Absolutely no rush but it's great to see the club moving quick

Bringing back in Sporar who was struggling badly for form was such a strange decision.

All loan signings too, so it's not like it was a view to the future.
Sporar was struggling for form precisely because of Wilder's chopping and changing so that no one got a proper run of games. Wilder's striker rotation/substitution policy was an absolute nonsense that did none of the strikers any favours.

Muniz is being returned to Fulham they have had enquiries from a couple of Championship clubs and they want him getting game time (presume one is Sunderland but wasn't told the clubs)

Muniz looked the right loan signing when he came, but for a 21 year Brazilian striker he looked a bit slow in his movement and his feet. The 2 goals he got here were with his head. I thought it was lack of match fitness, but he has never pushed on. Forss has shown how an eager and hard working forward can help other parts of the team, evewn when a bit limited in other parts of his game (at present).

Archer got 7 goals in 20 games @ Preston in the second half of last ssdeason and played twice for the England under 21s in the Summer. He is apart of the Villa's first team squad and got a long term contract there. These are all promising pointers.

Im not whinging, I just dont get why we are loaning out a proven goalscoring forward and loaning in a non scoring forward (this season) thats a year older
Coburn may be many things - a proven goalscoring forward he is not. Archer however, is a proven Championship goalscorer, and an England U21 international

It's a different style of player. Coburn is doing well in League 1 but he's in a front 2 alongside a very experienced League 1/2 striker in Aaron Collins (13 goals and 10 assists this season).

I think Collins has assisted 5 or 6 of Coburns 8 goals, and he does all the running, which makes Coburn look better.

I think Coburn's done really well... but if you look beyond his 8 goals, if he came back to Boro, he's not going to have the Collins he needs which has helped him succeed at Bristol.

Archer is much better in the position we need him to play in than Coburn would be.

We need to stop this talk of where does he play or who does he replace, those days in football are gone basically he plays where carrick wants him to it’s that simple.

We need options especially up top and so having a player as good as archer will improve us and will give us options.

Sky linking Akpom to Palace Everton and two unnamed German clubs

He's scoring goals, it's obvious there's going to be links to clubs who need goal scorers. The same clubs are linked with Gyokeres.

Not saying we're 100% keeping Akpom, money talks and nobody really knows - but the Archer deal has nothing to do with it, totally different positions.

MIDDLESBROUGH have won the battle to sign Cameron Archer on loan for the second half of the season, with the Aston Villa striker due to finalise the terms of his switch to the North-East in the next 24 hours.

? Anyone got a spare room in North Ormesby.
