Alves was a good finisher and much better than some suggest, again its all about opinions, watch all of his goals for Boro scored every type of goal and in a better boro team would of continued too.

For some reason boro fans look to finish a big name signing instantly, the price tag is the price at the time, strand larsen same price, Gyokeres even more yet people happy for these types of signing amd would hen jump on them instantly, same goes for Britt, no matter what you think of him his record of games started to goals is virtually 1 in 3 not a ba return, the same can be said of negredo who scored double figures in a team that didnt go forward

This 100% plus football is a tough game its up to these very well paid players to fight for the shirt. Ultimately the team needs to improve and some players will get left behind. So be it

Alves was twice the player with Rochemback in the side... They complemented eachother brilliantly.

Wouldn't go that far about Alves. He had a few decent games but hardly tore it up consistently at any point.

Rochemback obviously was an important player for us for quite a while.

Agree Newy: the lad`s done all the hard work so far this season and doing us proud.
I cant imagine us being so cruel to say "thanks mate - by the way - we`ve flogged you to bottom premier Southampton".
Carrick isnt a mercenary. We`ve got the top scorer in the Championship! Oh yeh - lets flog him!!!?????(n)
