Anybody still think that we will turn this around?

I do.

I still see us in top six come the end of the season and CW in charge. (y)
It was a year ago to the day that Houghton was sacked at Forest, so we're certainly not out of it. I do think Wilder needs to turn it around fast though otherwise he'll be gone.

Not good enough, does a manager throwing his players under the bus every week lead to a good team spirit in the dressing room or on the training ground?

At least Warnock used to blame the officials. Mid table at best

I don't think the vast majority of our players are good enough to get in the top 6, and the wheels are starting to come off the relationship wagon between manager, players and suits (personal opinion looking in from the outside).

Won't take long or much for it all to collapse in on itself. It'll take a sudden upturn in form to pull it round, and that would have to happen right now.

I don't, I actually think we have a squad capable of upper mid tables perhaps even play offs. However for whatever reason (tactics, internal politics, bad decision making etc) it's just not working at the moment and I don't see what will change to have us suddenly winning games.

I think we can pull things back together. This is a top half squad IMO. I think people are panicking too much. We’re 5 points off fifth and 6 off third. It’s still only September. You’d say two or three wins and you’re right up there. There’s no reason it can’t happen for us.

I'd agree with most of that, but we've had lots of "winnable" games that we've just thrown away - why do you think this is suddenly going to change ?

All it takes is two wins on the bounce in this league.

We beat Swansea, then lose (just) against Watford, beat Sunderland and then Cardiff happened.

If we can start tomorrow on the front foot rather than dwelling on the ball when it's with one of the defenders, we have a chance. But if we start panicking early on and hitting long balls, then I will start to worry.

No. I think we'll finish mid-table somewhere, below where we did last season. Maybe top 12. Wilder may walk at some point, possibly at the end of the season, don't think he'll be sacked.

You have to be Woodgate-level shyte to get relegated from this league, but 75 points takes a lot of consistency.

It's not the points in between us and those positions, it's the amount of teams in between us and those positions...teams that are playing better, picking up better results, have a more cohesive team/manager environment, more confidence, etc.

Almost a quarter of the way through the season.. you're asking for us to pick up and 10 other teams to fall off. Lost too many games already to be challenging for the top 6.

Because this is a group of players that hasn’t had time to settle down yet. A lot of them have shown themselves to be good second-tier players. There’s some real quality there in Muniz and Giles. This isn’t too dissimilar a group that went from 14th to 4th last season, in fact with Muniz and Giles and a better ‘keeper you’d say it *should* be stronger.

It needs settling down. My main two issues are the number of long balls being played and the gaps at the back. Both of those things can be corrected on the training ground within a fortnight.

Not sure. Midfield is a massive problem, and the fact we let Tav go without having a replacement sorted is amateur hour.

We needed at least 2 CMs, preferably we with a bit of pace and athleticism - brick sh*thouses preferably - and we didn't get them. And look at that, MF is sh*t and is getting over run for fun.

The tactics/formation also isn't helping. Teams know how to play against us, and we don't have a Plan B. Wilder too stubborn to even tweak his system which is a worry.

Cardiff nailed us, a team without a win in 6 and struggling for goals, and we just had absolutely nothing first half to readjust.

We have good players, who on their day will take the p*ss. But to have all of our better players functioning well at the same time seems a dream at present. Not good enough is it?

As it stands, looking at a top half mid table finish 10-14th. Win some, lose some, go on good/bad runs. Look like 70s Brazil Saturday to early 90s England Tuesday.

Expecting a frustrating season.

There was a poll on here the other week, some people were still saying autos and I didn't share their optimism. My opinion was that if we don't get the recruitment right we will be top half but outside the playoffs. We didn't get the recruitment right so I stand by that opinion. We're below where we should be at the moment and we will have some good spells which will give us a bit of hope but we will have too many bad days to trouble the playoffs.

We really haven’t. Where were Forest, Huddersfield, Luton at this stage last season? I think we were 14th in November and got as high as 4th in February. This is a tight league. It’s the reason people love it, because seasons are generally alive until the middle of March.

Top 2. There you go. That was terrible the other night but against the rest of the overall performances this season. If it was the third time we’d played like that I’d be worried.

"the rest of the performances" where we've picked up a grand total of 2 wins and 3 draws ?

Performances mean nothing, results do.

We have every chance of finishing top 6 if this team starts to gel. We've had some good performances without getting the results we deserved, but we've lost the games in which we were poor.

In this division you can draw 12 and lose 12 and finish in the top 6 on 78 points. This early in the season it doesn't take much to get back on track - win 5 or 6 of the next 9 and we'll be in the hunt and more crucially, in good form with more than half the season to go.

Obviously there's no guarantee that we will turn it around, but it's nonsense to suggest we've already lost too many games to challenge for the top 6.

I think Wilder's the man to turn it round, we are trying to integrate a lot of new players, that might mean we don't make the play offs this season but give him a fair crack and we will next season (might be in League One :) ). We can't keep changing the manager, we've changed the players this time let's give it a bit more time!
