What exactly is disrespectful about a game of football and people cheering a goal?Mmmm.. 70 years on the throne, a lifetime of dedicated service, no retirement at 65 for HRH and people seem apoplectic with rage that the football community has seen fit to postpone one game to fully recognise such service and devotion? I think it is absolutely the appropriate thing to do and grounds all around GB ringing out with cheers tomorrow would have been completely disrespectful. I really don’t think we as football fans have been asked to sacrifice too much in return for a lifetime of service. Use Sunday morning to take your young ones to the local cenotaph to remember the Queen and others who gave so much for us.
Yes keep sport away from clashing with the funeral. But the swathe of cancellations are way OTT.
