Feelings for tonight?

The lads might be a bit down on confidence but if we score first I reckon we'll win no problem...feeling confident, we're better than them.
UTFB.

Was wondering whether to take my 86 year old Dad tonight too for same obvious reasons.
He told me to stop being a fanny:D
(But think you are wise with the young un Diego)

Hahaha love it! Aslong as he is happy to go mate and yous feel safe he should go. He won’t wanna miss out on a win against the Mackems.

And yeah he’s best staying away tonight, too late for him anyway

I think this is one of the toughest boro v Sunderland derbies to call for a long time.

Their record against us is poor, we've got home advantage and if we can cut out the daft mistakes then it could be a strong win.

But equally the table doesn't lie, they've played some decent stuff this season, at both ends of the pitch, Mogga always does well against us and they have nothing to lose away from home.

So based on that I reckon it will be a win for either side, unless it's a draw.

I'll be honest I'm a bit nervous. We've easily played well enough to have picked up more points than we've got, but if ever we were going to turn in a performance it has to be tonight against that lot, in front of a big crowd and under the lights.

Really wish they didn't have Mogga. It's a storyline waiting to be written tonight.

I think it'll be pretty high scoring. I think they'll definitely score, as our defence is weak as pish. We've looked good going forward this season though, and I can't see them keeping us out. Hopefully Muniz can bag himself a few tonight. Late Crooks winner.

3-2 Boro.

Yea I can see a few goals tonight, as said before, we'll need to score at least one tonight to stand a chance of getting something out of the game, we certainly have players who are a threat to them, Clarke will be a big plus for us, unlucky not to be on the scoresheet v Watford

Nervous? Confident? Excited?

I suppose the only reason to be slightly nervous is due to our form but I am very confident of a good display tonight and 3 points to kickstart our season in gear. First clean sheet and a 2-0 win with Muniz amongst the goals. Let’s go!

UTB. Really can’t stand Sunderland.

Is it possible to be all 3 as I keep bouncing between them?!

I'm quite glad in a way that we play them now as I think after our end to the transfer window coupled with the Watford late show there was the potential for tonight to be as flat as a pancake that Mick Quinn had sat on (clearly one that missed his mouth).

However, with it being the Mackems there isn't a hope in hell of it being flat tonight. I just hope we make a good start as a bad one could kill the atmosphere, but there is no doubt from the start everyone will get behind the lads.

I love a night match as everyone always seems more up for it, 8 hours of pent up frustration at work unleashed in roaring the boys home.

This is a game we should win. Obviously, you don't win all of the games that you should win just like you don't lose all of the ones you should lose. It is the championship after all.

However, with all the negativity that has been building, Wilder saying transfers were needed and were imminent at every press conference for the last month and then for nothing to materialise has put a real downer on things. It feels like there is a disconnect between the club, the manager and the fans. We can now no longer use any of those excuses. This is our 1st chance to put things behind us after the transfer window and it would be nervy anyway. Including Sunderland (and Mowbray) just adds a bit more nervousness.

This could be the start of our recovery or the first full step towards losing the backing of the fans. Once that happens it can be hard to recover.

Hopefully it will be a win, and a comfortable one, and it will settle a lot of the nerves for the season and give us a platform.

Just hope we get off to a good start and don't find ourselves under pressure straight away.

I can see their defenders getting in the ear of Muniz, just hope he doesn't retaliate.
