Deadline Day

I was always calm earlier in the window that we'd get these players in, not that I'm not calm now since I guess it is only footy after all but yeah, doesn't look like we'll be getting anyone else does it?

I didn't think we would blast a load of money on one player, didn't want us to either but I did believe we'd invest most if not all of what we had brought in this summer but it isn't even going to be close.
It’s disappointing. No other way anyone can dress it up

Looks like Onyeka is all but done, just waiting on the situation with Norgaard. If his injury proves to be a lengthy one they'll pull the plug.
So not done at all then

So another 11th hour cliff hanger that we find out won’t happen and it’s too late to react.

Brentford are looking after no 1 as we should have done.

I didn't say it was done 🤷‍♂️

It all hinges on Norgaard's injury, but journalists are reporting that it is all agreed, so it is, as I did say, all but done.

I do admire the optimism, but our first 13 or 14 have so far produced 1 win in 7 league games, and currently have the leagues worst defensive record.

We are desperate for additions.
The defence is a new set of players learning to play together. It will work itself out with playing time

I think our full season is dependent on today. We are so lacking within the squad that if we "go with what we've got" (As Wilder has said in quotes) then we might as well not bother.

I know the market has been all over the place this summer, but I can't believe it's come down to this and we're being linked with the names we are today (Windass, Surridge). A total anti climax and a real disappointment after Wilder has mentioned 'big names' and 'marquee' signings a few times.

I think some of the business we've done has been pretty baffling too. The signing of Hoppe confuses me more every single day, particularly since he isn't even making the matchday squads, never mind being close to playing. The fact that we spent £2/3m on him, yet look like we couldn't/wouldn't up our offer for Larsen (who we seemed completely set on) by that amount is so confusing. To then be calling Hoppe a 'development striker' at that price is criminal. We already have our own development striker in Coburn, who has shown more than enough promise to be in and around the squad this season.
Totally agree, and totally agree about Hoppe - waste, use the money for a player the manager wants.

We’ve done a lot of really good business in this window, but I don’t understand hiring the best manager available and giving him a half-baked squad.

If we’re gonna do that, just get Tony F***ing Mowbray again, finish 16th like he always does, enjoy the press conferences and stop loaning players for coin.

If that really us us done then I expect stormy times ahead.
Wilder was very clear when we signed Hoppe that he expected 4 first teamers to be acquired. We got 1 - Muniz.
This will unravel I reckon and relatively quickly.
