On his way to the northeast apparently. Coventry fan thinks its to sign for Sunderland or Newcastle. I doubt Sunderland can afford him and he's not the caliber the skunks would sign with their blood money.

Without looking I’m guessing that it’s the usual balanced response from our mackem brethren when ever any mentions us.

Newcastle, no way.

Sunderland, I still don't entirely believe it but wouldn't rule it out completely. It depends on the cash they have and if they want to make a 'we're back in the (relative) big time' type of signing. If Sunderland stumped up the cash I could see him going there, I just doubt they would drop that much of their budget on one player when they need to strengthen in all areas.

Most of them are adamant he won't be signing for them as they can't afford it and they only play with 1 striker, and largely think if he's going anywhere in the North East, it'll be Middlesbrough.

Plenty of them haven't even heard of him.
 
I don't believe Sunderland (can afford him) or that Newcastle would be looking surely they are looking at £30m strikers to help break into the top 8.

Have Sunderland sold anyone for cash? Nowadays a club like Sunderland may be able to spend £3m to £4m on one player, but nothing more without selling (like us). I know they have sold over 28k season tickets, but has said on here they are a third cheaper than ours.

Also seems weird they'd let him play a friendly just before selling him?
