Johnson to resign shortly it would seem

I don't think there is much he can do as a PM if he doesn't have support of his own party. He can't get anything passed if everyone votes against it. He can dissolve parliament, grant pardons, hand out honours and go to war. I don't think even he is daft enough to declare war on anyone so what he can do without support in the Commons is limited.

Having a lame duck PM in office for 3 more months will be disastrous in itself - having this man in would be catastrophic. How can he work with any of those who have basically just knifed him. He needs ejecting this evening.

I can't see him hanging on for 3 months, even if he wants to, I think he'll be turfed out in the next few weeks and we'll have an interim like Raab whilst the Tories elect a new leader.

It’s shameful mate.

But are you really surprised.

HE HAS NO PARTY !!!!
We need to wait for his resignation statement on that I think.

If he agrees to resign as Prime Minister he will still (I think) be Conservative MP for Uxbridge and Ruislip?

Again, doesn't usually happen but this is not a usual individual nor circumstances.

I agree with this.

Let’s not forget his OWN cabinet turned in him not just the party but his own cabinet.

No one survives that.

Yes he is an mp just like T May still is.

He was elected as an mp

Yeah he’ll still be an MP. Unless he gets deselected. Which might actually happen and would be funny

The good people of Uxbridge haven’t seen him in their town since the last election night vote. I can’t imagine he’s going to rock up weekly in the Uxbridge local Tory offices to hold surgeries, chatting to old pensioners who complain about the cost of Nero lattes going up.

If you have opportunity. There’s an urgent on the Johnson’s meeting in Italy with Lebedev now. Just started.

Never underestimate the lunacy of a would be autocrat. We have seen how the GOP in the US pandered to Trump and how they now find it almost impossible to rid themselves of him due to the voting power of his base supporters.
Johnson isn't as daft as Trump, but he is far more capable of gaming the system. Take nothing for granted just like Cummings says. He knows him personally and has seen the sociopath up close.

There is no comparison the US political system and the west minster model. - none

He’s not a president
