Just Seen the Covid 2nd Wave Projections

You are obviously not aware that people of all age groups are dying.

Not 'rapidly' they aren't.. the median age of death is 80.
Your likelihood of death is around that of dying from the commute to work below the age of 65.

Remind me did we commute to work before covid? I believe we did.

As soon as you allow a free-for-all that will change.

Why? The virus will mutate to become more deadly to young people? What are you on about man.
Virus' mutate and tend to become less dangerous due to you know, wanting to stay 'alive' as it were.

Glad you are happy to take the risk. I am not.

The Government focus has to be on the health of the nation and the economy, football coming back is a nice diversion and distraction to shift peoples focus away from their covid-19 handling after a difficult week.

I understand why fans are looking forward to seeing football, but the reality is this is about the sky money for clubs first and foremost, If clubs don‘t fulfil their contractual obligations and voted to end the leagues, the PL and a much much lesser degree championship teams will no doubt lose money they have probably already spent. It is not about sporting glory other than a small minority of clubs. Teams like Burnley, Boro, Everton, Birmingham would happily cancel the league tomorrow if they were guaranteed the money off sky, BT Sport and the like. Only those in with a shout of winning something or avoiding the drop will be bothered. I doubt many really care about the fans. Liverpool (the city) will see a real breach of the new rules soon enough, as will Leeds i’d guess due to mass gatherings.

Health should be put first. I accept lockdown has health implications too, cancer treatment etc, mental health. I get the economy has to be started and furlough ended asap. It is hard for the Government to get the balance right, they deserve some slack for some of the good they have done too. They know they have a judgement day coming once its all over.

This is a far more dangerous time we are heading in to for the at risk groups. Track test and trace is important, as are the antibody tests. However until a successful vaccine or treatment is found many will be too frightened to try to live a more normal life. Many fit folk wont see them or hear about them, but there will be hundreds and thousands, if not millions of them around the UK as they sit and watch and hear about more death and selfishness. Some people talk as if those over 70 have lived their life anyway, forgetting that one day they aspire to reach that age and well beyond. I bet a few younger folk have a less thoughtless attitude then.

Those amongst us who have relatives working on the front line in some way or have friends and family with underlying health conditions or are older fear the knock on effect all this extra activity amongst younger people will Indirectly cause. Some could do well to remember that in society. People are a selfish breed and look at their own criteria as the norm. When out and about, how many people concentrate 100% on who or what is around them. Social distancing in the street does not happen that well now, I suspect it will be much harder to get your 2M moving forward. Supermarkets can be a nightmare many ignore the rules it will get worse all across society. There are many underlying health issues that the eye can not see. The fit and healthy will care about themselves and their family but many will not think about the risk to strangers especially those with unseen health worries.

That's fine if your job can be done from home do that, if not I guess you'll have to resign because it's not possible for the government to pay you to remain at home till you think it's safe.

Your in NYC anyway right? So no issue either way

Data is only for England
That's unfortunate. You would hope that countries in our part of the world would coordinate the data so all countries could react at the same time and implement measures to stop whatever spike is coming form spreading

Hopefully covid rules for football will stop them kissing the badges on their shirts when they score.
Means nothing, unless it was Mogga doing it.

Clearly fine for anyone over that age to die, are you a Tory by any chance?

No... Clearly a pensioner who's happy and doesn't need to earn money the next 30 years and screw the young who have done nothing wrong and are basically unaffected? See we can both play that game.

Until a vaccine arrives - I would hope we can as a nation become cleverer at protecting the weak, but allow younger workers the opportunity to earn an income and to do some socialising. It may mean different rules for different people and younger people have to follow these rules. Empathy is a word not used as much as it should be.

I would start with education and training of CV19 - just as we had to complete the dreaded h/s training and often complete a test. It should be introduced asap for people returning to work. Sometimes people may do the wrong thing through ignorance. On the other side people who ignore it have no excuse from reprimand.

Ref Football say for September 2020 - could we allow season ticket holders access to games from home for free, but allow others who want to go to games and sit a seat apart ignoring rules about whose seat it is. Capacity would obviously be limited to say 10000 at the Riverside. Close food and drink. Make it mandatory to wear a mask when moving around inside and outside the stadium. All temp measures. Just some thoughts they may be stupid. Remember we hope they is no second wave and that the virus is less common say 1 in 5000 by September.

My problem with that is seeing 10K people trying to be leaving the stadium in an orderly and socially distanced fashion. Car parking use may help to a degree but once outside people revert to type. How do you manage toilet blocks inside?. A good number of people will still be shielding. I am sure the club will be working on a way of getting some fans back, but i do hope those who, for good reason can’t go aren’t penalised in anyway by losing benefits when they can or are willing to return. We have a lot of elderly SC holders I think, who will have no choice but to miss out for now. I have every faith that the club will be fair to those people though

And its meaningless to me is the is the very reason I keep saying it
OK I'll ask the question I asked right at the beginning of all this awful virus, why postpone all the other league & allow the PL to play, what is the difference between Liverpool & Stockton
You can dress it up as much as you want, it's all down to greed, I will continue to call it, as I see it, meaningless matches, if it upsets you tough that's how I see it
I've read the comments about the matches so far, pointless, why someone wants to watch a game of football with no fans inside the ground, no tackling is beyond me
But I'll finish how I started why have all the records of the, so called lesser clubs, been wiped out & not the important teams

I think you know there would be tackling, i can’t wait for it to start back up, gives me somet to look forward to after working for a week. I get why they have ended the seasons at lower levels as they aren’t professional and they don’t have the money or facilities to test, test, test, it’s a big shame that their seasons were cut short but they will be itching to get back as soon as it’s safe for them and possible. I and many other millions of people will welcome watching some football on the tele, with no fans it’s not great we know but for me it’s better than nothing until the time for us to get back in stadiums is right.

can you answer my question on Cummings? As I have no idea what relevance that was to my first reply in this thread to you. I’m genuinely confused as to why you even brought that up

All good ideas but that's assuming a vaccine arrives. What if it doesn't?

2nd & 3rd division are professionals

I don't really care how many millions can't wait for souless football to start, I'm not intetested in the slightest, just accept that other people have opinions that differ to yours, I've not once asked why you want to watch souless games because that I your choice
If I had said on any of my that no one is interested in meaningless matches then yes come back at me but as I have continually said, I find matches meaningless then that is my opinion & just accept it rather than continue posting back
Enjoy the matches when they come on though

I feel like the amount of people maintaining social distancing has dropped dramatically.
I may just notice those that don’t than those that do more, but a lot of people just don’t seem to care.

The amount of teens that are meeting up with big groups of friends and not keeping any distance whatsoever has increased massively.

I forget where I saw how much the testing was going to cost. Quite honestly, I don't think most clubs in the Championship can afford it, let alone those at lower levels.
